From your description, you have a 2019, correct? I was hoping it was only 2018s. Are you manual or automatic transmission?
I have a 2019, manual transmission. I put the doors on yesterday and it happened again today but on the second startup after my first errand, it went back to normal.

I feel like it may get confused if I mess with the volume or throw it in reverse with an obstacle in the way (where it would beep) before itā€™s done fully loading up and thus causing this issue. On the couple times Iā€™ve remembered to just sit and wait for it to fully boot, itā€™s been ok. Perhaps just a coincidence right now but Iā€™m keeping tabs on it.

Had the volume drop again today. I hope it clears itself like last time, but I'm having the V41 work done on the 30th and will get the dealer to look at it either way.

I have had an ongoing battle with my radio. So far, not much progress from the dealer since ā€œthere is not a code indicating an errorā€. While I have issues with the reverse camera randomly not coming on, or volume control not working (this is fixed by changing to AM and back to whatever I was listening), my main complaint is the volume will be 1/3 to 1/2 of what it should be playing at.

At this point, it happens enough to be frustrating, but does not occur when the dealer has it. For reference, when the radio is working correctly, I can hear the radio at volume 16 with top and doors off. When the radio is running in its "low volume" mode, I can almost hear it under the same conditions at the max of 38. It will stay like this through several cycles of using the Jeep and will randomly come back and be good for a few drives.

This occurs with AM, FM, Satellite, Bluetooth, and Android Auto. 8.4" screen

I can immediately resolve the volume issue by pulling the F97 fuse. Doing this brings the volume back immediately, but I lose Satellite, the manual, and offroad pages (among others) for an hour or more. If the vehicle is left off and outside, it will update itself and restore those features.

Has anyone had this similar issue and/or been able to get resolution?
Also, should pulling the fuse remove satellite, off road pages, manual, and the other "apps"?

Thanks,
I've had the same issue with the volume, no resolution yet, but taking it into the dealership this week. No issues with the backup camera.

Good luck, I hope they find something.
Right now it seems if I turn the vehicle to ACC, let the radio come on, then starts the vehicle, i don't have the issue arise.
The times I forget and just start it is about 50/50 on if the issue will occur.
This is with the doors off on a manual JL. (not sure if manual matters, but noticed it seems to be a commonality)

I'm in the same boat unfortunately! I have had the volume issue since day one. Works great sometimes and others it will not increase the volume. I pull the fuse too then everything resets and seems to work for about 5 starts Then i can't increase the volume With the top off its hard to here the music. I did open a case. I did take it into a dealership once but no code popped up so they couldn't do anything When I take the jeep in for the steering damper they are suppose to look at the radio and call FCA to fix the issue Im keeping my fingers cross Very frustrated that I have to deal with this.

I have seen that issue, but it not the one I am having. Hopefully the root cause of it will resolve the my issue.
I can say (for me), if I don't start the Jeep, but go to ACC, wait for radio to boot and play, then start, I do not have the issue.
If I start the vehicle immediately (because i forget), the radio issue is 50/50 at this point.

I also think this issue is a manual jeep issue when the doors are off.

I have already posted in this thread back in July...that was the last time I had the issue before today. I have been driving with doors off for about a week. 50% volume today. Next start it was fine. Now it has been at 50% for the last 4 or 5 starts. This is not what I expect out of a $5X,000 vehicle. I am positive this isnt the customer experience Jeep is going for...

JeepCares...What are you able to do about this? Seriously? Based on other's experience, the dealership is worthless and wont do anything if there isnt a code. Yet there is a problem.

Hi JL23,
I understand your hesitation in visiting the dealer. However, if you decide to go down that road, I would be happy to get you connected with a Case Specialist to assist throughout that process. If you do not wish to visit a dealer, we can document your experience in a case so that it is easily available for further review. We are available via private message!

Any resolution to this? Iā€™m having the exact same issue with my 2018 JLUR auto. It only started happening in the past couple months. 50% volume. Fixed with fuse pull but continues to happen. This week 75% of the time I get in volume is low, 25% is fine. I come off warranty in a few days but typically have a horrible experience with my dealership (for straightforward issues, much less quirky ones like this) so feel I need to resolve it on my own. Suggestions?

is yours stuck at a certain volume and you cannot change it? if so, switching to AM radio and back should fix it.

or does your volume knob increase the volume, but it is significantly quieter than it should be?
For this one, I am still having the issue, but only with the doors off. If I remember to turn on accessory before start, I never have the issue.

My GPS stopped working correctly, so my radio being replaced next week. We will see if that fixes it.

The latter.... my volume knob adjusts it's just significantly quieter than it should be. My doors are currently off but I know that I also had the issue when I had them on. I'll try turning on Accessory before starting and see if that keeps it from happening. Thanks.

Hopefully closing this chapter on my JL, but after 3 years the radio was finally replaced. I am no longer having the half volume issues with the doors off. The radio was replaced about two weeks ago and I have not had the issue recur.

Still no issues? Did they replace the radio under warranty? I've had the same issue that started while under warranty but now I'm out of warranty. Given my experience with Jeep I don't expect to have much luck getting them to cover this. Do you happen to know the cost of the new radio install?
