I’ve had the volume drop to 50% once, but cleared itself after a couple of drives. Now the “no volume” issue has happened a few times. Each time I was on XM and switched to AM and audio came back.
I run with doors off 99% of the time during the warm months, so that is inline with what i see.I have been reporting this for months to jeepcares & my dealership. Don't bother with jeepcares as they can do nothing for you. Here is the thread:
One interesting note, mentioned in the link above is that the sound problem occurs 50% more when I have my doors off...

Hi Chemy350,I have this problem.. have had it for months. I use Apple car play and stream Apple music. 9/10 songs played, come in at half volume, then randomly a song will play at full strength and scares the crap out of me
Interesting theory, but when my Jeep was at low volume, even the GPS voice was low as well (I have speed warning turned on and the unit thinks the road the dealer is on is 35 not the posted 55).I doubt the problem is this but I'll throw it out there. Your volume controls (dial/behind steering wheel) *can* (depending on radio) set up to 3 different volumes depending on what application (radio/Uconnect, etc.) the radio is running at any given moment.
I wonder if the system is stuck in a non radio volume control setting and users, when adjusting the sound level, aren't controlling radio sound levels but another application's sound level that's also displayed through the stereo system.
