Radio static Issue

I have a 2021 Sahara Altitude. It has less than 1100 miles on it. The vehicle has been perfect for the first two months of ownership. I turned on the radio over the weekend and it played with lots of static. I switched to blue tooth and Apple Car Play to see if it was an antenna problem and still the static continued. I took the vehicle to the dealership and they looked at it initially then asked that I bring the vehicle back later this week. The next day the radio, Bluetooth and apple car play worked fine without any static like it had for the prior two months prior to the incident. Has anyone had this problem.

Funny I have a 2021 Rubicon and it did the same thing. was fine for 2 months 1700 miles on it. then I get in it one morning, and terrible static. I thought it was antenna or something so I tried Bluetooth xm, usb cable, hell even the nav voice was crackling. thought I would shut car off and restart it no luck. great now I have to drive home 250 miles with no radio. even stopped for lunch shut it off for 30 minutes and came back and still did it. great now I will have to take to dealer. got home parked overnight, next morning it fixed itself, WTF oh well been ok for a week but could not find anyone but this thread, guess we are the lucky ones 2 people lol, maybe buy a lottery ticket or some thing.

I think the radio system in my jeep has little gremlins running around in it. Sometime my radio has static but just before I take it to the dealer it stops and works fine. Then the other day my back up camera did not work. Next morning it worked fine. I love the vehicle, but have never had issues like this. Good news is it always starts working just before it goes back to the dealer. crazy!

I have a similar problem with mine. It’s intermittent and only happens using Apple CarPlay. Don’t know if it’s the radio or the media center where the phone plugs in. Haven’t had a chance to take to dealer yet. I was hoping to see if someone else had the same issue.

Just had that happen today. Luckily my son was with me. He looked it up and found out that if you reset the uconnect software it will fix the static… and it worked. Press the volume button and the tuner button at the Same time. Hold it down for 15 - 20 secs…. The screen will reset. Then turn on the radio and walah!

2022 Overland with 300miles did this same thing. I pushed the radio power and tune until it restarted (as mentioned above). It worked just fine for me afterwards. Thanks Capuli

Just had that happen today. Luckily my son was with me. He looked it up and found out that if you reset the uconnect software it will fix the static… and it worked. Press the volume button and the tuner button at the Same time. Hold it down for 15 - 20 secs…. The screen will reset. Then turn on the radio and walah!

Just saved me a trip to the dealer. Random static today through all input modes. Did the volume and tune button reset and it worked like a champ. Thanks!!!

The static started on my 2018 JL Sahara yesterday. I tried the power/tune button reset but it doesn't seem to be working. Question, should radio be on or off before depressing both buttons? Also, should engine be running or just press start button to "RUN"? TYIA
