Radio fades in and out

Every now and then my radio will loose volume, almost as if someone pushed a mute button. It seems to happen randomly and I can not determine what causes it or anything that might be a common denominator. However, I notice that if change the station, then the sound comes back immediately.

Anyone else have this happen and know what the cause is?

I had the same problem. Different channels, different volumes. Would increase/decrease volume randomly as I drove down road. There is a software upgrade that is needed - took to my dealership and they ran the upgrade software. It does take an hour or two to perform the upgrade. Fixed issue.
