So I got in my 2018 JLU Sport S with only about 800 miles this evening and after I started it up I kept hearing beeping and when l looked at the radio it was switching on it's own between radio, media, phone, am, fm satellite and so on I shut off the jeep and turned it on again but nothing changed. I shut off the radio and turn it back on and nothing changed. Since I was still at work I went ahead and disconnected the positive post from the battery, waited 10 - 15 seconds and reconnected it. When I started it back up it was fine.

Couple weeks ago the dealer flashed the radio to the latest version and never had a problem till now.

Anyone experienced this problem or have any ideas

Thanks

sounds like a possible low voltage condition based on reports in some of the radio threads. make sure all the fuses are firmly seated in the fuse box under the hood. check the voltage in the center cluster display and see if it stays above 14ish all the time. is stop/start operational or does the status in center display say it's not ready? might want to have BOTH batteries tested to make sure they're holding a charge.

So it happened again this morning while I was on my way to work, just started beeping and switching to different modes.

-Voltage was at 14.5

-Fuses were good and seated, checked last night

-Start/stop was not ready due to climate control warming up the jeep

I thought I saw a bulletin for programming for something else, but one of the things the bulletin mentioned was radio issues in extreme cold. Was it really cold?

@JEEPJLU18; Mine does this from time to time...usually I just give the screen a quick clean and that seems to resolve the issue.

Mine did that about two weeks ago. I turned off the Jeep, opened the door.. waited a minute or so and turned the Jeep back on and it cleared up.

Seemed to just be a glitch needing a reboot.

TimmH,
The Temp was in the mid 50's yesterday and 37 this morning.

TA1ton,
I will give that a try, what do you use to clean it?

Chomper,
Tried that last night before disconnecting the battery.

Dealer replaced the radio with a new one not a refurbished one this past Monday. Build date on the new radio is 1/19. So far no problems.
