I love the KO2 tires (very good to me in rocks and on the street). My new 392 coming in has the stock 33 inch MT tires. Can I literally just buy the 35 inch version of the KO2s in 315x70x17 and put them on the stock rims? I just need to know they fit as well as stock.

Yes. And do it as soon as you get your Jeep. Then you can sell the falkens for good money.

To use the stock wheels, you need to stay narrower than a 315/70R17 unless you want to deal with rubbing and clearance issues.

I run 315/70R17s on my Jeep. Following the guidelines from my lift kit and tire manufacturers, I ended up with a 2.5" lift, 2" bump stop extensions, and 17x9 wheels with -6mm offset (not sure of the backspacing as it's not published in the catalog).

Your route to running these on a 392 would be slightly different, but similar. There are people who do just mount the wide tires on the stock rims, but that isn't advisable.

Looks like your stock tire size is 285/70R17. They don't make KO2s in a 35" diameter that are close enough to that width. Looks like the best you can do is 285/75R17, which is a 33.9" diameter tire.

I found these as standard KO2s: Tire Size: LT315/70R17/10 That seems to be the exact same width, just almost 35 inch. Since the 392 is lifted already it seems like they should just slip on. Am I missing something based on your post though?

The BFG KO2's in 315/70/17 are exactly what I put on my stock rims and there are absolutely no clearance issues on my 392. All good.

Does a 315/70R17 tire fit as the spare without any modifications to a 392 without XR? Is the reinforced hinge-gate option necessary?

I needed a relocation bracket to move it up. Mine came with the reinforcement and I'm glad I have it...those bigger tires get very heavy very quickly.

Looks like it's 7 pounds heavier going from 33 to 35 on these tires. Someone else mentioned the tire will now sit on the step making it actually a little more stable in back. We will see on that one.

Overwatch, You may need a relocation bracket- some do, some don't. My spare fit but it really scraped the bumper and made it hard to open and close the tailgate. I got one from Rough Country. I do have the Mopar reinforced tailgate. Good luck!

I’m runny BFG K02 37 C Load tires. No rubbing off road and no hinge gate reinforcement. Only a relocation bracket and some larger spare tire bumpers.

Granted I haven’t done anything requiring massive articulation and enough time hasn’t passed to see how my factory hinges stay planted, but I’m happy so far :)

You’ll want to avoid those load range E, 10 ply rated tires and try to find the load range C version. The ride will be much better. If you’re going to be aired down and on the rocks a lot, then the E rated version would probably be better.

The 392 rims are different then stock Rubicon rims. The 392 rims are 8” wide and the stock rims are 7.5” wide. Most 315/70/17 and 35x12.5x17 have a manufacturer recommended rim width of 8” or greater.
So the 392 rims are perfect for 315/35” tires and you will have no issues running them.

I run 35” tires on my stock Rubicon rims and have no issues nor did I have issues on my last Jeep with similar rims width and 35” tires.
