This is a popular opinion with some folks but I'm very happy that I paid a little more for the Willys performance package. When I configured identical Sport S & Willys on Jeep.com the MSRP difference was $1,040. For that extra cost, I got higher performance brakes & shocks, pinch seam covers, a non throw away wheel and tire set (watch for the Sport owners rocking a Willys wheel pack near you soon!) and an appearance group. Just the brake upgrade alone would cost you more than $1,040 in parts & install labor on a Sport model.

Your brother gave you good advice!
Is it me or are the Willy’s wheels the same as the Moab wheels?

I would get the willys just for the hd brakes and rubicon shocks but with the added willys looks that kinda seals the deal.

I’m embarrassed. I was looking at purchasing the willys and that’s what the salesman said. I didn’t research it myself. It sure looks like the standard fender and I can’t find anything saying that the high line fender is an option. I bow to your Jeep knowledge.

Well it seems that dealership salesmen are equally duplicitous on both sides of the Atlantic lol.

I wish you good luck with your purchase and hope you enjoy Jeep ownership. :)

I ordered a Rubicon diesel. I was considering the Willys because the axles in the diesel will be the same. D44 front and rear, heavy duty brakes and 3.73 ratio. I went with the Rubi to get the lockers. Sorry for repeating what a salesman said. I should have known better.

I believe the Willys has 3.45 gears and the same axles from sport models.

Watch the TFL video about the diesel wrangler. A Jeep spokesperson at the Texas state fair said the diesel will get the same axles across all models.
