Has anyone here checked the "meet our team” link on one of the dealership pages?
The dealers I see are top heavy with management.
This is a rundown of titles from one site. Not uncommon for others to be setup the same way.

How can so many dealerships be so clueless with all of this leadership and staff?

Dealer Principal
General Sales Manager
Fixed Operations Director
Service Director
New Car Director
Used Car Director
New Car Sales Manager - two of them
Used Car Sales Manager- two of them
BDC Director
Team Leader - 4 of them.

About 40 sales and delivery people.

i stop wondering why because any possible logical answer will be more confusing and leads to more question as to why.

the best answer would be that the folks are there to sell you something that they dont know about.

that why you have to educate you're self and go in and buy what you want. not them pushing something they want to get off there lot.

however there is a small % of dealership actually knows what they are selling.

make sense as to why ?

It's pretty simple actually. When you have that much staff, especially in management sort of positions issues are always somebody elses fault or problem. No one takes responsibility when there's that much command.

Don't forget that a typical dealership is open far more than 40 hours a week. Some positions are doubled because those hours are split between two people. Also, salespeople are paid on commission so if there are too many of them, and only so many customers, they each get fewer sales.

They must have more than 1 store. Or they are just doing a ton of business. Otherwise it appears a colossal waste of money!

They’re all just schmoes. But everybody wants to talk to a big shot. They’re just telling you their schmoes are big shots so the real big shot (there’s only one) don’t have to talk to you about an extra quart of oil or a loose lug nut or two or something stupid like that.

I did the meet and greet at my dealer. Spent half the day comparing fishing pics and the service team showed me their rigs in the lot. They were very proud that the Tesla dude’s Jeep was being modded by them. Bunch of cool guys but business is business.
