Question on replacing rubi steel on JLSU

I want to replace my plastic Sahara unlimited 2020 with steel rubi take off. My local vendor has them but said it won’t fit...

I can't speak to that site or part number but all the bumpers are interchangeable. Tons of people put Rubicon bumpers on Sport or Saharas.

I can definitely confirm it fits on a Sahara. 8 bolts and its on there.

I wonder how does that hold up during the winter since its exposed to the elements.

It stayed there all summer. I had to clean the dust and pollen out of the inside before putting the hard top back on though. I don't have a garage at my house, otherwise I would have just put the eyebolts in there, but it serves me well. we built it so it can be taken down easily since its just on a rental property.

I've done both front and rear on my '19 Sahara.

On a 2019, which I think is the same, the front fits perfectly.

The rear will go on, no problem, but it won't like up to the fenders. there's a hack here if you do some searching.

No change. Just later version. Mater of fact I think they are up to “AE” version now. They are all interchangeable.

its on all mopar sites if you type in 2020 wrangler as the compatibility vehicle...mopar issue?

I'd check the marketplace threads here. That's where I got my bumper.

Edit: not the want to buy part but just search what's for sale.

That stinks. Hopefully can find a takeoff. Definitely best pricing that way. I just sold 2 brand new takeoffs with steel skid plate and all hardware for $700 ea. Keep an eye on FB marketplace also. Many folks not on forum. Good luck in your search.

There is no difference in the frame of any trim of Wrangler. They all attach bumpers in the same way.

The bumper is plug and play.

The closeout panel from the Sahara won't work with the steel bumper. You have to order a specific one.

The skid plate is the difference. You can't just remove a skid plate from a Rubicon and slap it on a Sahara without missing two key anchor points on the frame.

The frame requires a specific bracket to support the skid plate. The kit is part number 82215183AB.

I just got done with this whole project. Let me know if you want photos.

Also-typically a change in letters at the end of a part number is due to a change in supplier.
