Quality of Backup Camera

Yes it’s extremely pixelated in the 392, especially in low light. While my 2018 was Crystal clear.
Also they seems removed usb3. The two USB port in the rear was charging only, before the left one was usb 3 and connected to the car play……

It’s my understanding that if you add the front camera this now becomes the default hi res and the back up is downgraded as the system cannot run two hi res cameras. Apparently this will be solved with U5.

For whatever it's worth, I looked into adding the factory front facing camera to a 392 I initially ordered without one, (not the 392 I ended up with, long story..) and I was told that adding the factory front one would require changing the rear camera as well, as the rear one that comes on JL's without the front camera is different, and incompatible with the factory front camera. Why that is though, I have no idea.

That’s very interesting I would be curious to know the purpose for this switching of the lens.

Weird I’ll have to try this in my wife’s car too.

That was my logic as well. This came from an FCA rep.

Same my Mercedes 360 camera system although it pissed me off that it didn’t go to the full screen of the MBUX system was incredible. I honestly don’t care that much in this jeep because of all the other smiles I get I just thought it was interesting when compared to my wife’s from the same model year
