So, this picture is stock (right) vs. yours (left)? This is the low beam pattern? Where's the cutoff? Am I missing something? It can't be DOT legal to blind all oncoming traffic.

DOT not a problem - We used these on lots of different models of JL's Our tests and Intel tells us that there is only one connector type either it be halogen or LED. Also we have been shipping these lights to customers and we have not heard any complaints in regards to the lights, especially a connector issue.
I am not sure what you mean "DOT not a problem". Are they DOT compliant (yes or no)?

1000% not DOT approved. Just look at that cutoff. You don't want that.

You are correct if what I'm reading is true. According to this article from Truck Lite there is no such thing as "DOT Approved"....

"There is a great deal of confusion regarding lighting regulations in the industry. One common mistake is using the term "DOT approved." The United States Department of Transportation is not an approval agency and will not approve products. In the past, USDOT has sternly warned manufacturers that claim that their products are "DOT approved;" the correct language is "DOT compliant."

In the US and Canada, lighting products are certified by the lighting manufacturer as compliant, and unless the certification is "clearly erroneous," the certification will stand. The reputable manufacturer will state that its products are "designed to conform" to the elements of the FMVSS-108 requirements."

in the United States, exterior vehicle illumination is regulated by the United States Department of Transportation, not individual states, and the DOT has approved headlamp designs using LED lamps as a light source.

Many auto manufacturers are equipping new vehicles with LED headlamps. These headlamps are designs that have been approved by the the DOT, with specific design goals of illuminating the road surface without excessive stray light directed in the eyes of oncoming drivers.

What IS illegal is to use aftermarket lighting (including LED or HID headlamp retrofit kits) that has not been approved by the DOT for a specific purpose on a specific model of vehicle. This effectively means that you cannot change out factory headlamps with a different type of lamp. For example, you cannot replace an incandescent/halogen lamp with HID or LED, because that will change the characteristics of the lighting, unless such a retrofit kit has been approved by DOT for that model of vehicle.

It also means that you cannot legally operate most aftermarket lighting (such as high intensity LED “off-road” lights) on a public road. It’s not illegal to install these on your vehicle; it’s simply illegal to use them on a public road.

Can you explain how the DRL work? Will DRL feature work with a Sport that does not have DRL standard?
We have a Bluetooth controller that allows you to pick which accent color you want to display. Set to white color for on-road use only! If you have a non-DRL JL. Wire the Bluetooth controller to a switch or a existing positive wire that is live when JL is switched on. 12Volts only! The Bluetooth controller autosaves to last set color and will always come back to that color.

If your JL is a DRL model. You can tap the Bluetooth controller positive fused wire to the existing JL DRL wire.

The led and halogen fog lights use different mounting brackets on the bumpers. Do these lights fit on the halogen bumper/brackets?
Yes you are correct. The bumper is different on those different versions. Our Fog light will work with both. So No Problem.

The only thing we can be sure of is that these bad boys are not DOT Compliant but are wicked awesome! ......sorry TROLLS, although it may look like it the face plate does not affect the light output in any noticeable way.
