If you don't mind my asking, did you contact BOA directly before hand, or did you choose it once the dealer showed you the options?

It is best to finance with your credit union or local bank. Do not finance with the dealership.

Once you get have your loan check, and method of payment. the process is so much quicker....

Thanks, I sure hope so. I will get quotes from BOA and Capital One and probably go with one or the other. Just wasn't sure how all this played out when you order a car, whether you arranged financing prior to ordering or prior to pick-up/delivery.

I closed on my loan the day before my flight out to Criswell. That is the day that you start to accrue interest on the loan. You can start the process beforehand. I believe that I had to close within 30 days of applying for the loan.

Thank you so much for reporting about this. I've only heard great things about Leon (and Criswell). This'll be my first Jeep.

I was wondering though, if you don't mind, did you guys hammer out the financing details when you placed your order, or was that taken care of at pick-up? I'm just curious as to when those details (amount, interest rate, etc.) gets taken care of. Like you, I may go with outside financing if FCA can't beat it or at least match it.

If you can, I would wait. They collect the tax of your home state (where the Jeep will be registered). In my case they collected the NJ sales tax and tags for NJ... They issued a temp Maryland tag until I get the NJ tags and registration.

I had a great experience with Criswell, but I didn't get as good of a sales rep as others have.

The sales manager Julius Green was excellent though.

Don't even bother with financing through Criswell, as they won't even come close, as to what you will find on the Internet, or at a credit union.

You still have taxes in Delaware. Criswell will do the financing based on your home state. I think Delaware is 3.75%, but don't hold me to that. And if you trade in a vehicle, you only pay tax on the difference between the two. We bought our latest Jeep at IG Burton in Berlin, MD, but live in Delaware. Jen at IG Burton was wonderful. We ordered a '20 Rubicon.

I ordered my wife a JLU Rubicon last month for her birthday. I called Criswell Jeep in Gaithersburg, Md., and dealt with a new salesperson named Seyhla Ortega. Seyhla is a bit green but was friendly and kept in touch regarding my Jeep's production progress. Leon Travis is a seasoned Jeep salesman who assisted Seyhla in putting my deal together. Both work for Julius Green who is the sales manager.

To make a long story short, without haggling I was able to get 8% below invoice off of my order. Criswell took 7% off and added another 1% for my Tread Lightly affiliation (which needs to be at least 30 days old). On top of that, they offered me a Chrysler warranty a hair cheaper than can be found online. I got a call my vehicle was ready and we were in and out in less than two hours. A hint for anyone buying vehicles in the mid-Atlantic area. While Virginia allows dealers to charge whatever they'd like for dealer fees, Maryland caps their fees at $300. That is a significant savings before any negotiating even starts.

If you know the Jeep you want, give Criswell a call and order exactly what you want. My order arrived in under four weeks and Mr. Green advised many were coming in as little as two weeks. All it takes is a phone call, a couple of emails, and a $1,000 deposit. It was one of my best dealer experiences ever....no BS, just straight up professionalism and a phenomenal price.

I was originally trying to lease from Criswell, but cannot seem to get decent lease deal to go along with the great price. Seems like the best option is to get the price and come down with pre-approved financing.
