We're going to be in Jackson WY. Witch is the south entrance to yellowstone.

Looking at Google maps, it may be an hour or more outside of there. So we will see. Thanks.

I'm thrilled to come across this thread! It's incredibly exciting to witness someone's journey into the world of Vanlife right from the start. Your RV is beautifully crafted and provides a comfortable living space. I genuinely hope that you thoroughly enjoy your life on the road, and may you encounter a multitude of awe-inspiring experiences along the way.

Thanks brother.

We are enjoying ourselves. Of course there is still some ups and downs, but it was to be expected.

Overall really enjoying our RV it is very nice.
Want to do more off roading but I am sure will get there.

Yellowstone next. We will be in the Yellowstone area from the 8th of this month until the 30th. Then headed to Washington state to visit my dad.

Then into Oregon and down the coast into California and Yosemite. Then into Nevada, Arizona and New Mexico.

That's the plan anyway. Will see.

Have you made reservations for the National parks you plan to visit?

Yes, Yellowstone is all reserved. Yosemite is not but worse case if we can't get anything, in our RV we can dry camp for over a week.

The first thing you would run low on is fresh water. If I fill our extra water containers we could be off grid for 7 or 8 days.

Well, been a bit. The RV park in moran WY was nice but no cell service, nothing. We were 1 min. From the Grand Teton national forest and about 5 min. From the first, south entrance of Yellowstone.

Definitely a beautiful place. Although, too many people at and around old faithful. One visit was enough for me.

We did do monument ridge. I would go there more often then old faithful. I can see why BOH picked this trail. It's not always about how difficult a trail is. I would have to say once you get to the end it is definitely one of the most beautiful views in all of WY.

Yellowstone is also beautiful as well, just get off the beaten path a bit.

We're in Cody Wyoming now and have already went to an old ghost town/abandoned town, the rodeo and horse back riding.

The only thing that kinda sucks is there is just the one way in, and you have to come back out the same way to go see the ghost town.

Next we're in Gardner Montana. Looking forward to the north side. Supposed to be more wildlife. Although we have seen 2 bears, (No grizzlies yet) tons of buffalo, pronghorn, Elk, and no wolves yet. Have to be out more at dusk and dawn usually to see the wolves.

Okay I will let some pic.s do the talking.

Catching up here.

Went from the Grand Teton area to Cody Wyoming. Really liked the Cody area. Did the museum, awesome gun collection. Great people. Of course did some off roading.

From Cody we went to Custer. North (Montana side) Yellowstone. Did all of this side. The RV spot we had was great. I parked facing forward and our view was the Yellowstone river. Went in to Yellowstone at dusk one time and saw a bear, elk, and deer. Got some good pic.s

Now we are in Kalispell Montana. Just outside of Glacier national Park. Glacier is beautiful, but a lot of people for my tastes. All going so fast you can't see anything. Glad there are a lot of pull outs.

Yesterday we did the blacktail wild bill BOH trail. More to my liking, only saw 6 people, and 6 critter's, so even, I like it. Lol. This is a really nice trail in that it is a 5 to 9. I got some good experience and was able to do 5 or 6 obstacles in my jeep. Highly recommend this trail if your ever in this area.

We saw 5 deer and 1 black bear on the BOH trail. The doe were jumpy and ran off, so no pic.s. the buck stood there in defiance so we got a pic. The black bear in Yellowstone were all young bears. Maybe 350,400 pounds. This black bear yesterday was 500 to 600 pounds. Biggest black bear I have ever seen. Unfortunately, we came around a corner as he/she just got up on the road. He/she saw us, turned and zip, right back in the forest and disappeared. No pic.

Until next time. Enjoy the pic.s.

Went to the Tri-cities Washington for a few days. Went to middle school and graduated high school in Kennewick. My dad still lives in Kennewick, so got to visit him for a bit.

Gone now and in the da hood. Lol. That's Mt. Hood Oregon. We're at the base about 17 miles from the volcano, lol. Of course growing up some in this area I have seen the cascades, but the wife had not. If you have never been up here they are an impressive range of volcanoes. Put it on your bucket list.

Went off road today for about 7 hours. Lots of forest service roads but most were dead ends into camp sites.

A few pic.s

Sometimes it takes me a while to catch up here. We were in Tillamook Oregon and no service most of the time. It seems to be a pretty nice place. It rained a lot of the time and or was overcast. But hey, it is Oregon on the coast.

There are two BOH trails in Tillamook. This just so happens to be the first time since we started traveling I actually booked someplace because of the BOH trails.

After the wild bill trail the wife asked where's the next trails, I said Tillamook, she said book it, so I did.

I am glad I did. These are probably the most technical trails I have been on yet. Of course I am still a novice at off roading, maybe intermediate.

I did pretty good. I never scraped bottom one time. I only have a 2 inch spacer lift and 33s. There were plenty of places to hit if you choose the wrong line.

These trails are hard to find and there are some other roads you run into. I am not sure if I did all of firebreak or not, but I started out in the right place.

Beautiful up here. Here are some random pic. To bad you can't go under the cedar tree anymore. It has collapsed I guess to where you can't drive under it.

Update. We were on the northern California coast for 6 or 7 days. I love redwoods there's just nothing else like them.

Too many pic.s to post all but I will post some. Not a lot of dirt roads in the area cause the redwoods are protected.

Had reservations at lake Mead RV village for a week. Hot and them more hot. Then we went back to California for a week to visit my wife's sister. Her husband has a nice shop out back from when he used to build race cars.

This allowed me to do some preventative maintenance/service on both the jeep and RV. Changed oil and filter on both the jeep and RV. Changed both front and rear differential fluids on the jeep and the transfer case fluid.

Back at lake Mead RV village, boulder city NV for a while. Took my brother off road the other day for the first time in his life.

We attempted Rocky Gap road here outside Vegas. Made it three quarters of the way. You come to a place where there is a huge wash which amounts to a huge rock garden.

I walked most of the way up, and I sure my jeep would make it. But, I would need an experienced spotter the whole way up, which my brother is not.

I could have gone anyway, but one mistake and we may have been stuck or broke and right now the jeep is all we have. Can't afford to have it towed out or waiting for parts for months. We were alone and I made the decision to turn around. Just have to be a different day. If I had 35s I might have went for it. Wasn't real happy but had to be smart some pic.s.
