Does anyone else here still have problems with their door lock not unlocking when using the proximity access? I posted this a while ago and it was fine...for a while. Now it’s back! It takes a few pulls of the handle to unlock the door. It sucks! My 10 yr old car with the same feature works every time!
I had the same issue. The dealer replaced the battery under warranty and it took care of it.

I have the same issue. When I place my hand behind the handle the doors do not immediately unlock. I can see the screens inside the car turn on like the car is warming up. Then it takes a few pulls for the door to unlock. When I remote start the car I have no problems and the car unlocks as soon as I put my hand behind the handle.

I also had an issue the other day where the car automatically turned off at a red light and then failed to turn back on when it turned green. I had to put it in park and turn the car off and back on to move. This makes me think there is some sort of problem with the battery. I won't be able to take it to service until after new years but I am very frustrated.

This issue is so frustrating. When you're standing in the pouring rain trying to unlock using the door handle and it takes 5+ seconds..... And now that it's winter, I'm standing there with my young children in the wind and cold. How has Jeep (@JeepCares ) not addressed this issue if it is happening to so many people?

Hi MojitoJLUR,
We're very sorry to hear about the trouble you've been having. Have you had a chance to address this with your dealer? Please feel free to send us a private message if you would like any additional assistance if you plan to have your dealer look into this.

When proximity entry is being used, there is an exchange and verification of a coupe of different codes, For example when the activate the sensor in the handle the system wakes up (so you see the screen come on etc.), the antenna transmits to the key, the key transmits its ID code (so the vehicle knows it is a valid key for the vehicle as well as a rolling authorization code (similar to new garage doors) and verification takes place within the system. It seems that sometimes the authorization codes get out of whack. I have found that when you start needing to make multiple pulls on the handle, it keeps acting up for a few days. When it starts acting up, I take the FOB and do an unlock/lock with the FOB while I am standing next to the Jeep and then everything seems to be in sequence again .... just my experience, but if is acting up on you, it is worth a try

Thank you, I'll pass that along to the dealer. Mine is there now for this issue and Jeep is involved to solve it. It has happened to me everyday for months and of course, they claim there were no issues yesterday at the dealer. :headbang:

Tech may have done a unlock/lock with the FOB when looking for your car in the lot and inadvertently fixed it :)

Exactly what I was thinking. Mine seems to act up after using the remote start, maybe just a coincidence though. My service adviser is going to try remote starting it, driving it a mile, let it sit for 30 minutes and then try unlocking it using the door handle. I'm hoping that reactivates the issue. But after they call, I'm going to mention this reset idea.

They were able to replicate the issue by not using the key. However, they are not sure how to fix it so they ordered new door handles. I'm supposed to pick it up today so we'll if it fixes it or if it stops working again. II'v been out of the country for work so I haven't had a chance to talk to my casr manager but will be today. I'll keep updating here until there is a resolution so others can have theirs fixed once they figure it out

They replaced the handles and of course, they said it fixed it. I got home and they stopped working. Jeep has now escalated to a higher internal level and I have a new case manager. I'm supposed to take it back in to the dealer again when I can make an appointment.

I have been trying to resolve this issue with the dealer for months. Called Jeep customer care. A field tech came to the dealer to evaluate it. He said that it was working as designed. Jeep customer care called me back and said there is nothing else they can do because the field tech reported to the Area Manager that it was perfectly normal. He said that his Ram Rebel acts the same way. Major denial issues here. Jeep customer care said the field tech reported that I wasn't giving it enough time to unlock before pulling the handle. Well, you can hold the handle for 8 hours, it's not unlocking until you release and grab again. Of course (as previously mentioned on the forum) unless you use the keyfob to lock it, then it functions fine, but if you've remote started it with the fob or app it acts up. This is obviously a software glitch.

My dealer has a field tech now involved. I have to send them a video of it so it's not just sitting at the dealer until the figure out the next action.
