Proximity door locks retrofit install (instructions, parts, links) on JL Wrangler

Have to look inside the door to see if the pigtail is in there, tied back for future use. Or take the outside door panel off and see if the tag number on the harnass matches the proximity wiring number. My Rubicon did not have it, had to buy new ones.

@WranglerGuy No updates as of yet. My parts come in Saturday, and my JScan adapters come in Monday. I'm going to try to do the parts install Saturday/Sunday since the JScan is plug and play. I should have confirmation on Monday or Tuesday depending on how much troubleshooting I may have to do.

Verify the dealership will add it to the vin. Check the pins in the connector on the Jeep side. If you find a dealer, let me know, I have all the parts I’m about to sell. I can’t find a dealer to do it.

I haven't gotten a chance to read all 26 pages of this thread (only read 8 so far lol) but I'd like to note that in @JeepRumbler 's video he noted that some Rubicon and Sahara models already have the harness and just need the door handles. Mine is a bare bones Rubicon with only the LED lights and 8.4" screen. I wish I had waited and got more options....anyways, is there a way of finding out without having to tear into the door?
I plan on calling the dealer today and speaking with my Service Director about this.

If you reference back to page 13 you will find the information that you are looking for. The easiest way is to check the pins that they reference in the post.

No luck from my dealership for what I'm trying to have done....here's what the parts specialist just emailed me:

"Yes I did see that now I just completely read over it, sorry. So the Proximity door entry isn't something we can do. Unfortunately Chrysler hasn’t offered a kit out there to make that happen. For the auxilary power switches, that kit is $675 installed plus the remote start would be $1270 plus tax to do it all together. That's also just for the kit itself, we can also add whatever you need wired up to them for an additional charge as well. But if youd like for us to just install them and have it ready for whatever you're going to install, we can have it set up for you that way. That kit I can have next day so it would come in sooner than the remote start. Let me know if you have any more questions! Thanks!"

A friend and I are going to go ahead and do remote start install ourselves, but that's a bummer for the Proximity no-go. Its the Greenway Dodge dealership here in Orlando, FL.

I believe all Sahara's and Rubicon's have the necessary pins. You will still need the harness for the door, but you won't need to make a jumper like people with Sports. The only MY that is questionable is the 18's because some came with the pins and some didn't. Since you have a 20, you should be fine and will only need the handles and individual door wiring.

@Gee-pah, let me know this when I was trying to get mine done, but I'm several hours away. Maybe if you contact them and let them know your intentions, they would be more likely to do it.

I'm anxious enough myself. If I had a live feed on the delivery truck location I'd be tempted to stage a heist.

Thanks. I'm surprised that someone who already had the parts didn't jump on this right away after you posted it a few days ago. If it works (and forgive me if I'm a little skeptical), it would be a "game-changer". You would no longer need the dealership to act on your behalf.

Okay Jeepers, I'm relatively new to the forums but I have been religiously tracking this forum to see if I could add this feature onto my Jeep. Thanks to @Etch for all the help and the developer for JScan who I talked to in order to get the feature added to iOS (this dude might be the best app developer I have ever seen by the way, literally put out an update hours after talking to me). I would like to report that through the steps mentioned on post #381 that I have gotten the Passive Entry feature to show up in the radio. Thanks so much to the people in here for the help. The next step for me is to order the parts in order to test if it actually works but I just wanted to let you all know that it now shows up in the radio settings.

That’s great! Does the setting for passive entry stay checked? I got to this point as-well with Jscan, but my setting did not stay enabled. This was before the developer did an update.
