What's the proper technique for a stock JLU to descend down a step/shelf that is 45 degrees to the trail? 16" or so
Let's say there is limited width, so swing wide and square up isn't an option (not even sure if that is correct anyway)

I'm thinking if the first wheel goes over, then you turn "into" the trail, it could be a roll risk?

Stock sport? Do you have clearance for the obstacle in breakover and in departure? Specifically look for rear bumper clearance when you drop off a shelf. You won't want to drop on your bumper, but dropping on your hitch may be the best approach (to protect your bumper).

Will you have traction? In situations like this you want to make sure you understand if and when you may slide (and what may suddenly stop that slide).

In general, you'll want your front axle tires both down before you drop a rear tire. You don't want to drop two tires on the same side since your track width is narrower than your wheelbase (length).

If you have enough breakover, you can reposition once your front tires are down to aim the drop if you need it to hit your hitch.
