What is the most and least backspacing we can get away with on a JL sahara? Last time I ordered some ProComps they didn’t fit because the BS was at 5 with a 18x9, 0 offset wheel.

I’m looking at some XD 232’s with 17x9 +38mm offset and 3.5 BS. Not sure they fit.

Bump for update purposes. Specially looking for folks running 35s on stock wheels with no lift or spacers and seeing how they run on trails, rubbing, at full lock, etc

Looks like the Black Rhino Warlords in a 17x8 would fit really well. Shows 5.7 backspace, with a +30 offset. Really close to stock sizing. I’m doing the C-rated 315/70/17 BFG ko2, so an 8” rim is fine

Hello!

Wondering if you have any pictures of the +30 on the 315/70/17.

Currently looking at 35x12.5r17 nitto ridge with a 17x8 +30 blackrhino arsenal.
Can't for the life of me figure out whether or not this will work on a 19 sahara jlu. Let me know what you think!

That same 12.5 tire is not less or more wide on a larger 8.5” rim compared to stock.
Sorry, I didn't read through all the responses so someone else may have posted this, but yes, it is more or less wide depending on the wheel. A narrower wheel pulls (holds) the bead in tighter and therefore the width is slightly narrower with a narrower wheel. Tire manufacturers will usually state the width based on a wheel width:

Taken from the BFG website for a 285/70/17C BFG AT KO2:
Section Width on Measuring Rim Width: 11.00" on 8.50"

@dsiciliaa - wondering if you made it work.. I am currently on Black Rhino Warlord 17x8 (+30) and 285/70/17. I want to move to a 35" tire and wondering if the clearance on the inner side is good enough. I do know that I need a lift to clear the fenders.
