So I am having problems with our Taurus G2 PT111. The other day at the range it stopped firing. Pull the trigger and nothing, does not even act like its engaging the striker to hit the firing pin. Went to take it apart to clean and inspect and I cannot get the slide off because the last part of removing the slide is to pull the trigger as you slide the slide forward and off. Wound up taking it to a shop and they see the same thing but they were able to remove the striker and backplate to get the slide off. Now it sits in my safe in 2 pieces awaiting further inspection.

Anybody have an idea? Is it possible that the trigger bar got bent?

I wasn't certain where else to post this thread so I headed to the Off-Topic Lounge

I think the striker assembly was damaged.

The one on my PPS broke and I had a similar issue trying to get the slide off, and it was doing the same thing you were describing.

I bought a new one from Walther, but I'm pretty sure they would have sent me a new one at no cost.

It's not hard taking the slide apart. You need a set of roll pin punches though. You can do the repair yourself and save the money.
