I am completely awstruck by these comments. How hard are you guys breaking that you need to replace rotors at 45,000 mi!?

At this point I'm just going to assume everyone in this thread is those people that I see on the highway who are bumper to bumper with the car in front of them, and who when in a traffic jam don't leave a boatload of length between them and the car in front of them and hit their brakes when everyone else does.

If you drive like a semi driver and leave a buttload of space between you and the car in front of you you pretty much never have to use your brakes on the highway, even in stop-and-go traffic. Do people close the gap and change lanes in front of you, sure! But they are in such a rush that they close the gap to the car that was in front of you, so you don't have to worry about them.

Y'all should try that next time you're in traffic!

Man, I feel like this is a HBA thread, Heavy Brakers Anonymous! ????

In my Toyota Camry, I put a little more than 200,000 mi on it over the time I had it. I replaced the brake pads and rotors once. I got it with about 160,000 mi on it, and I replaced the brake pads and rotors at 350,000 mi... Then I crashed it at 370,000 mi. ?

I used to take it to Christian Brothers automotive, and they would do a inspection on it every 50,000 mi, I remember one time they said my brake pads were at 8 mm and then 50,000 mi later they said they were at 7 mm.

Unrelated, but when I get my second tune for my EcoDiesel, I'm going to get the transmission package which will tune for a form of engine braking. Basically I already barely use my brakes, with that I will then be down to like 1% brake usage. ??
The question wasn’t about how many miles you can get out of your rotors if you drive like an old person. We’re all very proud of you. The OP simply wants forward guidance based on his use case. I think the point that many have made is that the price quoted should include rotors and that rotors are easy to replace.

WOW … Stealership trying to rip you off!!!

like @Tredsdert stated, you shouldn’t need brakes/pads done at 45K miles.

I bought my used JLUR with 22K and still don’t need brakes at 77K.

Also to emphasize @Mgg253, I also have a Ford Fusion Hybrid from 5 miles to now with 180K miles on it and needed brakes done once at 120K miles on it!
OH and forgot to mention with the fusion…this is with riding the brakes at EVERY light to maximize battery regeneration charging!!!

And boy do those who want to quickly get to the stopped red light get pissed at me, lol.

I checked, the OEM pads are made by TRW.
