I am preparing to order a Rubicon to lease. The dealership informed me that the price I’m being quoted will change based on the current month’s promotions at the time of delivery. This makes me nervous. Could I be told it’s gonna cost 750 a month now but then suddenly it’s 950 a month 2 months later when it’s delivered? Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks!

The better dealerships will lock you in so the price is guaranteed not to rise.

Hopefully you're already familiar with the spreadsheet in my sig.
Yes, however, I went to 4 dealerships and they all said the same thing to me.

I placed an order last month for a Willys and I plan to lease. My dealer told me they locked in all the rebates.

I ordered a new 2024 X and it took four months to be build. The dealership locked in the price at time of the order. I would never commit to an open end transaction unless I’m holding the option.

the MSRP is locked but they are saying they cannot guarantee rebates incentives or programs bc it’s based on the month I accept delivery of the vehicle.

I have not analyzed lease terms in a long time, but you are starting with msrp? Would not hurt to negotiate that if prices fall or incentives become available can you add them or some of it. Look closely at the finance factor rate, dealerships play big games with that number.

Cannot lock in rebates. They change month to month.
yes. I am understanding. What I’m asking is, how much of a difference can these rebates make? Could the price jump by the hundreds per month or are we talking $20-$30?

Rebates can be any amount of course. $1K or $3k more less. I'm not sure when leasing but when financing you can conservatively use a $20 a month for every thousand financed. So every $1k down will reduce monthly by $20 or every $1K financed is $20 month. So a $3k down payment will reduce monthly by $60. So a $200 diff in payment would be $10K down.

Rebates can be to the buyer or dealership. Dealers many times keep the rebate as a down payment for the buyer. So what makes you think that future incentives cannot be part of the final negotiated price. So basically you are given all the option power to the dealership. Price go up you’re screwed, prices go don’t you’re screwed again. 😂

We placed an order on a new Rubicon and got the price a little under invoice. They said that would be our starting point and any factory incentives or rebates available at time of delivery would come off of the price we have already agreed to.
