Back brakes are done, and I was able to get the pads broke in today. I read a lot stories about the rear rotors being a real bear to get off. There is a little rubber flapper on the back side of the rotor you might use a little screw driver and loosen the brake shoes. I got lucky, my rotors just slid right off.

Thanks, I usually clean after every trail ride. But the last few outings all I had to do is dust it off. The conditions where frozen ground.

I had the Z36 pads and rotors on my F150 and the pads on my 4Runner, they were great. I'll definitely be using them again when it's time to replace the brakes on my JLR.

Where did you find the front calipers? I can’t locate any, but I may be overlooking something.
Are the calipers the same design as OEM?

when I still had my F250 Super crew & it was due for brakes, I used the powerstop: and believe it or not, the cheapest I could find them was actually at Amazon..saved almost $50, if I can remember correctly

Another option is Power Brake I'm looking at the stage 1 kit the next time I need brakes, likely in a year or so.

Well I installed the front brake kit today. Took longer to remove the wheels and clean up then it did to change out the parts.

Looking at ordering this kit, as I had a Powerstop kit on my Challenger and loved it.

My question is, does this kit fit with 17” wheels or do you need to have 18” wheels? I already have 18 inch Fuel wheels, however I am going to purchase new KMC wheels and I may want to go with 17s this time around.

Does any one have any experience (good or bad) with this:

https://www.powerstop.com/product/power-stop-z36-brake-kit/
Looked at those and many other packages. They are expensive.

What I did: EBC makes the best brake pads out there. I say this because I have a friend who owns a Research and Testing company and he tested brake pads on Jeep Wranglers. He tested every brake pad you can imagine and EBC took the title for best all around stopped ability for the Jeep Wrangler.

The winner was: https://ebcbrakes.com/products/ebc-greenstuff-elite-brake-pads/

I put these on my JKR Recon (Front) and the difference was day and night.

My buddy did not disclose a lot of stuff as he works with all the auto mfg, and does testing for them. He is an Auto Mechanical Engineer and he is a Jeeper HARD CORE, like he runs at the Hammers every year.

I also picked up a set of grooved rotors.

My cost for pads and rotors was about $300 bucks and about 1-2 hrs of install time with hand tools. 1 hr if don't count jacking up your Jeep and taking on/off the wheels.

Recommend: DIY and search the net for best deal on each component!

How do those slotted rotors do off-road? Does gravel get into those slots and cause issues?

I bought the PowerStop rotors and pads--don't waste your money. The improvements are marginal if at all and honestly no pad change is going to stop a Rubicon--especially a modified one--properly.

In the end, I installed the Teraflex Delta brake upgrade and now it stops the way it should have from the factory. Very impressed with them and no ding at Teraflex--definitely at FCA--no way should you have to spend 2K extra on a 60K Jeep to have a proper brake system.

17“ wheels is what I am running, so if you have 17” wheels your good to go.

The calipers are stock, they’re just red. 17’s are stock size.

Also, if you can find a set let me know, these things have been impossible to find for a long time.
