Apparently I authorized the new PDC when I said over the phone something to the effect of 'just get it running' when they tried to say I needed both diffs, the transfer case, and the coolant system flushed and new fluid and a front end alignment because it was out of alignment. Thought it was weird they were checking fluids and the alignment on a vehicle that doesn't run.
I must be missing something here - you brought it in because it died in traffic and they are telling you that both diffs and the TC are bad?

How did you get that? They recommended fluid services while replacing the PDC that he may or may not actually need.

Sorry I worded that weird, they said the fluid looked "old" and recommended those systems be flushed/the oil changed in them. I'm wondering if the PDC fixed it because they still say they are working on the PDC but from videos I've watched it seems like it doesn't take long to swap them.

Hey for reference, my 2019 JL Sport lifted on 35's has been the best damn vehicle I have ever owned. I get more 'smiles per mile' from this thing than any other vehicle I've ever owned. Really, by far, bar none.

Now, I have had nothing but the shittiest of experiences at severel FCA / Stelantis "Stealerships" near where I live. I've even been brought to the point of wanting very badly to legally sue one of them in order to recover diminished value for involving my vehicle in a collision on their property, while it was there for warranty service. Even though I was thirty miles away at work when a delivery driver struck my Jeep on their lot, they refused any culpability. I had to file a claim with my insurance, pay my deductable, suffer the total run-around from everyone, only now to have my vehicle show up on-record of being in an accident.

When it happenned the General Manager had first assurred me that they would take care of everything. Nope. Nothing but pass-the-blame through the whole entire ordeal. So yes, that's pretty shitty.

I cannot in good conscience ever do business with any company who treated me the way they have. Granted maybe any, or even every dealer under any brand name, may have done the same underhanded crap, but for me this event has a face. I won't ever visit any of the CDJR sheisters around the Greater Denver area, especially the one in Longmont.

It pains me greatly, I used to write engine control software for all Chrysler - Small Car, Large Car and Jeep Truck programs a while back. If anyone would have any loyalty to a car manufacturer it would be me. Yet it's all out torture to see just how bad this company's public service organization has fallen.

So while I agree with your cynicism, I have nothing but piss-poor experiences that drive my level of mistrust to the point of near to total boycot.

Really bad business practices deserve to have negative business consequences.

I decided against hiring a lawyer and do continue to grapple with that decision. My insurance has repaired the damage, recovered my deductible through the delivery service company (not the stealership) and I'm only now at a loss for diminished value. I'll even brush off all the pain and suffering as a life lesson.

However, if anyone has earned the right to complain about the total lack of customer care by Stelantis, it would be me.

Whether I now need to have a tune-up, a major engine overhaul or have diagnosis performed on my power distibution center, it will NOT be done anywhere near a Stelantis Stealership.

Hopefully, this will be my last JL that I ever own. And if so, I'm driving it around a happy man. Happy with the thought that these Schisters may have hurt me, but they won't get the better of my ownership experience.

I really am having a blast in this thing. Even while driving by one of these places. Albeit it's very hard to withhold the urge of visably flip them off as I do so.

Kind and humble regards.
Jay

A third party hit your vehicle while in a parking lot at a dealership?

Yep. On the police report, it indicated it was parked in a public spot on their lot. Funny how the delivery truck hit no other vehicle but mine. My suspicion is they left it front of a service bay where the hurried, minimage age / wage driver was bound to hit it.

Regardless, even though they initially indicated they'd take care of all of it, they blamed the whole thing on the delivery company. I was unfortunately left having my insurance company figure it all out.

In the end, many months later, I did get my deductable reimbursed.

In addition, this stealership refused my extended warranty claim. They stated that I wasn't in their system. Only when I brought in the original signed Mopar Warranty documents did they say "oh here you are, we just must have missed it."

The work was for a rear seat cable lock adjustment. No parts, $1048.00 labor. My extended warranty has a $200 deductible. So all total my out-of-pocket cost for this visit was $700 ($500 insurance deductible) plus the loss of my vehicle for the month in the collision shop.

All this over Christmas a year ago. Anything but merry.

This fuse blows all the time. It's nowhere near that expensive. You do not need to replace the entire PDC, that's silly.
Do you know which fuse? If the thing shuts down and refuses to run I think I should try and find out which fuse that is! I guess I have the idea of checking them, but that takes a while, especially in a snowstorm

They probably bent a pin when installing the PDC.

In all likelihood, it was probably only the N1-N7 fuse array that needed changed.

Maybe that $2000 bill included all the fluid change, which you don’t need, never mix repairs like this, it’s a rabbit hole

The z-case fuse array that runs along the N2-N7 studs.

As I've had more time to research it, I believe the alternator clutch is failing and that's what caused the PDC "failure"/ blown fuse array. There has been a line of grease it's spit out the dealer ignored but I think that's what killed the battery too. (I've replaced both batteries twice in 3 years)

The at fault party should cover your insurance deductible? I have used my own insurance out of preference and to expedite repairs in the past, but the at fault party has always reimbursed the deductible (and my insurance company when the claim is settled).
