Hi,

I had a steel Rock Hard bumper on my JK and the powder coat started to fail after two years. I really liked the look of the bumper, and am interested in the Aluminum version for my JL Rubicon, but I don't want to have to sand and paint the bumper every Spring.

1. Have you changed your pretreat process to ensure better adhesion and corrosion resistance?
2. Do you pretreat aluminum differently than steel? (Yellow hexavalent chromate vs zinc phosphate)

Thanks,
Jim

Jim,
Shoot us an email to [email protected] with some photos and we'll take a look at what's going on with your bumper.

I sold that Jeep, powder coat was bubbling up. Not sure if it was surface prep or low mil coverage.
