Wanted to share some pics of the body damage on the passenger rocker panel. Wife spotted my right into a tree stump while crawling. Any tips to fix are appreciated but mostly wanted to share for laughs.

Body shop... They can push and add plaster and sand it down. Just be lucky you didn't damage the door more and had to replace it I heard it can be very pricey being that its aluminum.

Thanks hidden rock at Fordyce. This is why I don’t wheel at night 99% of the time. Lol.

Got all these on the same day last week. I don’t mind a little rubbing on the trails but I believe I went over the daily quota here. I have a rear diff skid sitting in the garage waiting on its matching diff cover to arrive. The Jeep gods did not approve of the spiteful act of not installing all available armor before a wheeling trip.

First damage more significant than pin striping or dragging skid plates... even the two door turning radius isn't tight enough sometimes! The four door that followed me cracked his painted fender and popped the DRL and turn signal out of it. Glad I stuck with black plastic!

For me, it was either the passenger fender flare, or driver side rocker. I chose flare!

Why not choose an extra point turn?

Why not choose an extra point turn?
Believe me, I would have if it were possible. Essentially a flat wall of dirt/rock/roots well over the top of my Jeep on the passenger side and about a 4 foot tall pile of rocks on the driver side in a C-shaped turn. Think dry creek bed only an inch or two wider than a JL. I did try to adjust twice, but there just wasn't any room... and I also thought I could squeeze through.

Nice fix! How did you crack the top?
I used a knife to score out the cracked area then a rotary tool to make a gap. I probably wouldn't have made such a big gap but it was the only attachment I had. If I were to do it again I would use a thinner carbide bit.

I used two tubes of JB Weld to build it up, putting thin layers down then using a hair dryer to help speed up the curing so I could re-apply every 20 minutes. It was a pain as the JB Weld runs so you have to apply a bunch at the top and anticipate it sliding down. It was just above freezing was expected to get much colder so I didn't have much choice. I just wanted it sealed up before winter. I then sanded it down with an orbital sander and painted it. I just used some Tremclad so it's not a perfect match but have bought the right paint from the dealer. I will repaint it before I put the soft top on this summer.

No issues throughout the winter so I think it was a decent fix.
