Possibly solved - Terrible squealing sound less than 48 hours into ownership

good info, taking in tomorrow so I'll share this with them. Noise has been going strong all week and then last night poof...gone. just in time for the dealer to say they can't reproduce.

Just picked mine up tonight and it’s all good so far. Talked with the shop foreman for a little while about it and he said he is sending it up through fiat so that it’s documented. They also threw in some auxiliary switches and an install for free for all the hassle on my end. I offered to pay, they refused and said it’s on the house. So that was cool.

My 2018 did this on my 21 mile drive home. Took it back next day. Dealer checked and it was bought back un 14 days.
They thought a rear differential shim or bearing failure was at fault and told FCA to expedite a new rear axel
FCA wanted to see the axle complete and neither FCA or Dana could even provide an estimate in axel ship date.
Dealership was awesome and pushed FCA for buy back.
I ordered on 8/8 and delivered on 8/28. Returned 8/29.
Ordered 2019 9/17.
Was a Sport S Unlimited. Standard rear axel.
My 2019 was ordered with LSD.
Still waiting

I didn’t want the trashlock but I wanted the 44. Those clutch packs in the lsd burn up relatively quickly, and I’ve seen several cases where the lsd additive isn’t put in after a regear and the bearings and gears get burned up by all of the foam in the diff.
I’m gonna keep my eyes peeled for a set of rubi axles but I’m not in a super hurry.
When I talked to the shop foreman and the service manager they said that digital imaging is killing them, they don’t have as much leeway as they did in the past to fix stuff because it’s hard to prove in the requested pics. I can see that point of view. Technology gaps and what not.

Did this end up fully solving your issue? My 2019 just started making this exact same noise. At the Jeep dealer now and they don’t seem to know yet what is causing the noise. Less than 400 miles into owning the vehicle.

I'm having the same issue. Never does it when I need it to. Now I can show the dealer the exact sound based off of the video posted.

If it helps, this is what my dealer told me what it was - directly from the invoice receipt:

"Found oil slinger loose and making noise. Oil slinger would need to be replaced to resolve concern."

Just in case anyone stumbles onto this at a later time with the same issue. I took mine to the dealer this morning and showed them this video and a video of mine doing the same. He confirmed that mine was also caused by the pinion dust sleeve/shield coming loose. I’ll post a video of what to look for in a bit. If it’s making this sound (especially the one in the second video) it’s the pinion dust shield.....

Bought my jlu sport on Tuesday, it went to service Thursday. Smh.
For those who care to watch you will notice the sound doesn’t start until I hit about 20 mph, it doesn’t stop until I come to a complete stop, and I’m one video I roll down the window and you can hear it is pretty loud.
The first time it happened (Wednesday evening) it lasted less than a minute, the next time (Thursday morning) it lasted about 5 minutes during driving, the next time after that (Thursday evening) it lasted a good 15-20 minutes. It did eventually stop making the sound every time I drove it but after happening 3 times in 24 hours and getting worse I drove it to the dealer.
So what are your thoughts? It’s bone stock.

The sound seems to be rpm (engine speed ) related? it seemed like pitch went low when u slow down..or maybe my imagination.
