If you look at the circuit board closely, you'll see the antenna running around the edge of it. That's going to be the limiting factor on how small they can make the fob.
And it's not waterproof, it's water resistant. I have a watch that is supposed to be good for 1000m and it still is listed as water resistant, not waterproof. There's no way I would even consider the Jeep fob good enough to go diving with and that is normally less than 160 ft. It *might* be water resistant enough for getting caught in a rain shower or *maybe* if it fell out of your shirt pocket into your dog's water bowl, but considering how overpriced it is, I wouldn't even risk it for that.
