Your answer and more can be found at the Threedom Fob 101 thread..Went to the Threedom site. Curious......the RFID chip is what allows the pushbutton start to work. If you have no power locks or other features (a buttonless remote), do you still need the battery and circuit board on the remote for the Jeep to start, or can that be RFID chip be in your pocket (or wallet) and not need to be placed at the push button to work?
You will find a ton of JL/JT related fob info here.. Well worth reading through the whole thread..

With any JL/JT..
In short though.... No battery and circuit board in the picture means you must physically press the RFID chip or the RFID chip in a holder against the start button.... you depress firmly while holding brake pedal down and the JL/JT will start / is driveable.
Do read the whole Fob 101 thread..
