Working list... Feel free to add.

Rating (C,D,E) Ply - Thickness of sidewall. Additional protection + load = stiffer ride.
Actual diameters are listed - Width should also be taken into consideration dependent on wheel/rim of choice.

A three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol branded on a tire's sidewall indicates the tire meets required performance criteria in snow testing to be considered severe snow service-rated. 3PMSF-branded all-season and all-terrain tires cannot match the traction of dedicated winter / snow tires in all winter weather conditions and should not be considered a replacement for where and when a dedicated winter tire is needed.

Listed Tire pressures are manufacturer recommendations (See post #25 for explanation).

I went with the Kumho Road Venture Mud Terrain KL71. (35x12.5x18). Only knock is that they are directional tires.

    Hi,

This is a great post! I need some help from anyone/everyone that’s knowledgeable with this stuff. I just ordered a fully loaded Rubicon and need some tire advice. What I’m looking for is to change the rims to the ones in the link below. Now, I’m not very familiar with the rim/tire setup but I will say that I will not be lifting my truck but I’m looking for an aggressive rim/tire setup (mostly visual as i won’t really be doing off-roading). I'm looking to have my rims stick out past the fenders and I want enough of a size where the tire looks aggressive but doesn't rub when driving. Any suggestions anyone on what tire size/rim height i should go with?

They are Worx Rebel (by Ultra). I got them from TireRack with the tires came mounted/balanced.

According to BFG published data, as well as data published by tire retailers, the Rubicon tires are 51 lbs., not 58 lbs. The LT-E rated version is closer to 58 lbs.

Are you saying that the information is wrong, and you've actually weighed a LT-C BFG KO2 by itself on a scale and it was 58 lbs? If so, that's ridiculous for a tire with such low load capacity.

I'll add that the Hankook Dynapro M/T was the Four Wheeler Magazine mud tire champion a few years ago, and is regarded as one of the best, if not the best, mud terrain tire on the market. Here are some weights in popular sizes for daily driven Jeeps, taken directly from manufacturer data:

    255/75-17 = 53.5 lbs.

    265/70-17 = 56 lbs.

    285/70-17 = 63.5 lbs.
