I just purchased a new 2019 Jeep Rubicon Unlimited with the 2.0L eTorque (BSG) mild hybrid engine. I running 91 octane as recommended.
After four tanks of gas, I'm averaging 17.2 mpg (2/3 city, 1/3 highway). I've seen other owners post much higher mpgs? Should I be looking for something? I owned a 2014 Jeep Sarah Unlimited with the V6. It averaged 18.9 mpg.... Any ideas why my mpg is so low? I do not have a heavy foot...

Do you have a lift/larger tires? Other mods?

I have 35" K02s and Mopar 2" lift, I can get 22 city/hwy if I drive easy on it, if I go a little harder I'm sitting at about 20mpg city/hwy. I have about 5k miles, the mpgs seem to have continually improved since I got it, maybe give it a little more time to break in

City driving kills MPG, all the stop and go. I'm getting on average 19.5mpg during the week albeit some bits of heavy footing but when I road trip for 2+hrs each way on the weekends straight highway I'll get 21.5-22+ rolling at around 70-75mph+ and it would just go higher if I dropped to 65 or drove for longer or wasn't as aggressive sometimes. You'll see the gains on long road trips. Rubi's I've seen get lower MPG than Sport/Saharas as well.

Just around town with 87 Octane with 1000 Miles the display showed 15.6 Average Stock Rubicon.I put Premium in it and on the Highway it came up to 18.6..I looked at the speedometer and was doing 87 MPH.Mine is a 2 Door and it is amazing to me how fast it is going with very little effort. It is super fun to drive and hard not to have a heavy foot IMO

Yeah, I have a 18' JLUR completely stock. And have noticed the mpg isn't amazing. I'll get about 350-380 miles per tank using the recommended fuel (93 Octane in my area). I'm averaging 18-19 mpg sometimes lower (have a heavy foot). But not super impressed with fuel efficiency. Long road trips at 65-70 mph i'll get low-mid 20's. but anything above 71-80mph i'll get 17-19mpg.

Temp and winter grade fuel does affect gas mileage.
I have a stock 2-door Rubicon and I am averaging 20.

I am in a similar situation, from a '14 JKU Sahara to a '18 JLUR. I was getting 16/17 mpg on my JKU, now I'm a around 18/19 on my JLUR at about 2k miles (similar driving, both in style and route (80/20 City/Highway). I was also hoping for more, but it is what it is. MUCH more responsive though and much better performance on the 2.0 / 8 Speed than with my 3.6 / 5 Speed JK.

Simple, your drivetrain is not broken in. I have the 3.6L and 6-spd. I'm at about 4k miles and I don't consider a vehicle broken in until 7,500 miles. Wait until after the first oil change. I started at 14MPG and now am avg. 18.5 MPG in the city. I did 21MPG recently on a freeway trip. A significant improvement.

Keep in mind, Rubicons are taller and have 4.10 gearing.

So far did just under 600 miles average 19.7 with mixed use of highways and side streets. Varied the throttle as well. 2019 rubi unlimited. Stock. Compared to my old jk it is much better and the power is nice. Acceleration even from 50mph or so is better then I expected .....

No doubt the fuel efficiency will be better on the 2.0 if you hold your driving habits constant, assuming a stock vehicle and not a Rubi with larger tires. For the latter, you are likely to stay in boost on the highway -- I think you'll see a noticeable drop there. I'm still kind of waiting for the diesel, but the turbo is tempting too, for performance reasons.

JLUR stock - I have 2000+ miles on my 2.0T, and drive mostly short distances in town (city), and occasional longer highway driving on the weekends. I don't have a heavy foot, and my town has more small hills than straight level roads. I'm averaging between 20-21 mpg's right now using 89/90 octane.
With that said, I'm taking in to account the winter weather here in New England and noticing how my mpg's drop quickly during the first several miles on a cold engine.
I'll wait to see if the mpg increase a little once the warmer weather kicks in a few months. I love this rig.

Cruising flat ground at 60-65 I get 24. Not bad for a Rubicon. At 70+ it does drop a few MPG.
