This is what scares me. I'm thinking of getting a fully loaded Rubicon and then with all the other stuff, itsi another $15K-$20K with accessories and upgrades. Mindblowing isn't it?
I'm in for over $3k and haven't really done much. Mopar steel bumper, winch, and sunrider make up the lions share... but the small stuff really adds up quickly (GPDA cargo cover $100, phone mount $35, floor mats $110, locking hood latches $60, GPDA grips $80, RokBlokz mud flaps $160...) the list seems never ending.

Yeah it is... but there is a lot to be said for the Rubicon.. I was wheelin in Bishop area around some lakes.. And a Suburu was trying to follow me and the rubi made everything look so easy, after we were done fisihing and we were on the way back the Suburus were still there flighting to climb a hill, dust everywhere, spinning wheels, yelling wifes.. etc..

Rubi's are just no drama wheelin machines...

I would do it again..

Over 10K in the first year and still building. I don't think it ever ends, does it?
JEEP = Just empty every pocket :)

I love that line...

Truth be told I spent probably $25K on my 1991 K5 Blazer, mainly 1.25 ton axles, lockers, Hydraulic steering mods, lifts, Boggers, BFG (2 sets) and I hd to do all the engineering and work.. Wrangler pretty much done with a little help from Mopar.. Know I know there is some crazies that like to run the hammers.. more power to them.. but that is not me... its the destination - journey that I am interested in VS a rock crawling challenge.. If I liked the hammers, I would get a John Deere with portal axles :) or a walking deere https://binged.it/2IYT9VB :)

I'm recovering from paying mortgage for a house on the market far too long and downtown rent together for a year so I'm probably under $1500 including my toplift pro which isn't built because I don't have garage room anymore.

The fun stuff will be in a few months if I can convince myself to not pay off my JL first..

Sell a house and have a brand new Jeep and try not to splurge, I dare ya. This is way less stress than building BMWs though. A new dual-clutch for my old BMW, just the clutch, not install etc, was $3500 and I was around 550whp and was wearing out the old clutch. I was terrified I'd wear it out before it sold and have to drop $5k in just maintenance at 45k miles.

And my rear tires were $500ish/ea but I didn't have to buy 5. That's new. Hell I rarely bought more than 2 at a time. They only lasted 5-10k miles though.

My problem is i want to replace basically ALL of my Rubicon stuff. Bumpers, fenders, everything. I'm half tempted to sell it and get a Sport gladiator and build that up.

How much have you spent on accessories on your new JL/JLU? Including tires, rims, anything that didn't come with it from the factory.
As of today

I still want (need)
Metal Cloak skid plates
Rancho front and rear diff covers
67 Designs rail mount Cell Phone holders
ARB Air Compressor
HighLift mount for rear bumper
Roof Rack

We love this Jeep, and feel that everything we have done and put on it were worth every penny.
