I did this about 2 weeks ago. It took me about 2.5 very passive hours and only 2 cans ($12 total) although I bought 5. I didn't want to take the wheels off so I masked the outer area with duct tape which I 1/2" ripped for flexibility and a wall-like shape (this was the most time consuming and annoying part). I also stuffed the wheels with grocery bags to protect the brakes. Total 6 coats (3 was the threshold of covered) with the tape removed for the final 2 to get the lip pieces accidentally covered by the tape.

I am pleased overall. I have the premium wheels as an on the lot bargain vs custom. I don't mind all silver, but I dislike dual tone.

I think the stages pictured are 0, 1, 3, and 6 coats. 2 weeks in, the last 2 layers that got on some of the rubber is all gone. I decided to leave the lugs exposed knowing they'll eventually get rubbed off with tire rotations.

Nice job. I have thought about doing something similar with mine since I have the same wheels, but would want to keep the red Jeep icon, which is definitely not something I will be able to do myself.
