Plant status?

Does anyone know exactly when the plant shuts down (or if it already has) for the January maintenance/tooling update? It was reported in Automotive News that it would be down from 1/11 to 1/22. My order was in G status this morning. Just wondered if it might squeak out the door before the shutdown.

The production calendar shows Jan. 11 to 18 as shutdown. Then 21 is a holiday. Can't tell if they resume on 19 & 20 or not.

I believe the schedule someone posted earlier showed that the plant would be shutdown Jan 11-21 and reopen on the 22nd.

Yes, that's what I was looking at. What I meant was you can't tell if they're taking the Saturday and Sunday off as part of the shutdown. On second glance though, it looks like are off 1/19 and 1/20. They resume Saturdays (10 hour OT) on 2/2.

And of course Jeep Chat says they are not aware of the plant closing for the week. The folks farther up the food chain don't share much with them or so it seems by their limited visibility to the process.

Sucks, I just learned about this today and just placed my order last week.

Relax, they're back on the 22nd. If you ordered a 2.0 you may have a speedy build. I ordered my JLR 2.0 on Jan. 9. My salesman just told me I'm in D1 now. That's so quick. I've recently read others posting 2.0 builds taking 4 to 7 weeks and then they're off for delivery. Conspiracy theory is the 2.0 helps Jeep meet their CAFE target, so they're bumped to the front of the line. If that's true, I don't like the thought of butting in front of 3.6 orders which went in weeks before me.

Well, I put my order in just at the right time (1/14) as it likely won't go for production until the factory is open. Phew. I did order the 2.0 Turbo as well... so maybe they will put me in the front

Have you received your VON? I placed my order last week and haven't received one. I’m not sure whether it’s a communication error with my dealer or whether it possibly could be related to the temporary plant shut down.

Not sure. Haven't asked. I was going to wait a week at least. That said, I'd be surprised if we got a VON/VIN yet with a plant shut down in place.

Will do. Is there a reason to get the VON? Or should I just ask dealer every couple of weeks for a status.
