My wife and I were looking at Leisure Vans as well. I love them but sad that it can’t tow the Jeep. I have Turtleback trailer which we love but looking for something longer trips.
they have a 5,000 lbs tow limit, if your jeep is a stock 2 door with no fluids it might make that limit, but after doing all the mods to the jeep it is probably closer to 6,000+ lbs than under 5

I never get tired of camping in the Alabama Hills.
Those steaks look exactly the same in both pics... was there any heat involved or did you just smack it a few times and toss it on the plate :CWL:

Slumberjack Roadhouse Tarp. I like it, but it's not perfect. Cheaper and more versatile than one of the hard-mounted awnings, but it has a few flaws. It doesn't handle high winds well (not sure if any awning does, though). And if you don't have a roof rack to anchor the leading edge of the tarp, you're relying on just the wheel-straps and that can pull down after a while in wind. Also the poles it comes with only have one height.

I swapped the original poles for some adjustable height ones. And I added some additional long guy lines to better anchor the leading edge to the front of the Jeep (since I don't have a rack to hook it to).

It works for me. It's reasonably easy to set up for one person, it provides some nice shade, and it doesn't require a roof rack (though that makes it easier to anchor, yes). I'd buy it again, though I do leave it behind if I'm expecting serious desert wind.
