Sweet! I would love to visit the trona pinnacles sometime. A little too far right now :)
looks like y Lu have figured out a trash bag solution that doesn’t cover the rear camera!! Any thoughts to share on that?
My spare tire is mounted pretty up high so I just tie the bag through the spokes and still have decent clearance.

Some photos of picking up our Patriot x3 camper over Thanksgiving week and a little camping/cooking/trail fun afterwards.

thanks- we LOVE it! I dont have any great photos of the inside, but you can find plenty of them by just Google image searching.

it takes about 10-15 mins to setup and about 10 to tear down.

what i really love about this setup is that i can fully stand inside of it. I’m 6’ tall so that’s impressive. The inside also has 2 beds: 1 main queen sized bed and the other is a flip up bed that converts from the lounge area, which also serves as an L shaped sitting/eating area with a flip up table.

The trailer is a masterpiece in design. It’s so compact but transforms into a huge inside and outside living area complete with diesel heat/hot water, 35 gallons of water storage, beds, plummed sink, fridge/freezer, stove, grill, awning, ambient lighting, lounge, eating table, roof rack, hitch receiver, off-road suspension, airbags for leveling, full computer system, and TONS of interior and exterior storage.

We waited 13 months for it, it it was really worth the wait. I’m thrilled with it.

Ive been looking at ground tents for a while. I assume thats the gazelle? How do you fit it in the Jeep or does it sit on the rack? I have been thinking about buying that but am concerned about the size..packed length to be specific.

That’s awesome! I went with a Turtleback and electric roof top tent. I like your trailer, it’s pretty cool that still has that off-road capability but you’re kind of getting a tent trailer at the same time.

My wife and I love our Turtleback but the next purchase we get will probably be a Mercedes’ class B+ leisure van. We will keep the turtle back probably forever but we want something we can have a full bathroom and shower so we can tour the country. We plan on towing the jeep behind the RV. At some point I’d like a few options that I can choose from.

Just washed the trailer for the first time today.

That’s a REALLY nice setup you have there! 🤤

We also looked long and hard at Turtlebacks. They are great.

And, we looked at Winnebago Revels/merc sprinters. Ultimately, we wanted something That was small, nimble, and felt like we were camping. And that we could fit in one of the empty garage bays in our house. I was a little worried about the downstream costs and complexities of the sprinters on top of the already hefty price tags. But, they are cool

Yeah if you really want to get off the grid and tow something only the Rubicon can handle as far as complexity of a trail there’s not a ton of options. I think it’s great to start as the base and then I am going to work my way up overtime and just have multiple options for traveling :)

@alksion Check into the true tow capacity of a Leisure Travel Van or any other B+ based on the MB chassis. Your Jeep is probably going to exceed the hitch rating, let alone the actual GCVWR.

We carry on our rack. With two large dogs and us it's well worth the size and weight.
