Looks like an awesome adventure. I plan to be in Joshua Tree for wheeling, hiking and camping sometime in February or early March. Your pics get me excited to visit there. The heart shaped rock. Very cool pic. Well all of them are cool pics. I need a pic with my adventure girl by the heart shaped rock.

Yeah it was beautiful. Funny thing. I have lived in SoCal my whole life and this was my first time visiting Joshua tree. You and the wife will love it.

It's a stove pipe, got the stove and a fold up backpacking stove. I added a floor mat and welding cloth on the wall

First time I used one of those fire stoves was in a Yurt in Idaho. It sure was cold outside. I loaded it up before bed. We woke up about an hour later and had to open the door! Those things WORK!

Not all of us are rich so us poor folk don't have a monthly budget for $300 chainsaws that get used maybe twice a year. I've owned my Ego for 10 months and have yet to use it. Well, I did put bar oil in it and rev it up in the garage like a crazy person, if that counts as using it....

Perhaps we look at things differently: if you haven't used a tool in half a year that is not a tool for your passion. Rich or poor a tool that sets on a shelf rusting away is an extravagance–

Funny you said this... Next trip we bought hardwood from a local lot and mixed it with the cheap wood for a much better, longer, hotter burn! Pretty sure I have enough wood for a year now with no chainsaw required!

I have an awesome spouse, I show up with new guns, tools, Jeeps, motorcycles.... She could careless.

Funny you said this... Next trip we bought hardwood from a local lot and mixed it with the cheap wood for a much better, longer, hotter burn! Pretty sure I have enough wood for a year now with no chainsaw required!

Sometimes this happens out wheeling and a saw is handy.

Me too, she shows up with all sorts of stray bits, tools, plants, trees, camping gear,... I enjoy the crafty items she makes, food and views produced, trips we do together, and stories from the solos we do apart—

Depends how a particular couple does their finances. It may not be "asking" to buy. My parents for example my mom did the checkbook, paid the bills etc, and if my dad wanted something he would simply say hey i want to buy this larger ticket item, and she would say go ahead and make sure the money is in the account.
