My last camp didn't have a Jeep, didn't have a tent because the 40mph winds decided that we needed to rough it.

So the boys and I packed our gear and hid out in a cave. The cave already had a fire pit.

Slept like crap on a pad and bag, but it was a great night to remember.

Sadly, I bought my hammock 2 years ago and have yet to bring it to sleep in.

I hear great things but it sits forgotten in a bin down in the basement. Next time maybe?

They pack great under the seats and is for sure a great napping setup!

No personal experience, but I'd have to assume they reduce pests, not eliminate. Anything skeeter sized could just slip in from the bottom. At the risk of giving away a possible money maker, I wonder why nobody has made a no-see-um screen surrounded in light spring steel (like in pop-up tents) that is sized to seat inside the window channels.
I made some for my LJ but with magnet strips... Not going to work for our JL or JT though.😉

👍 I keep one in my Jeep just in case, last time I used it I had it tied off spare tire on LJ and a tree on Natches Trace in Mississippi. I used my Tent Cot last trip there it would have been faster to use hammock. I should be out some where right now but trying to deal with windshield replacement paperwork to be reimbursed for it.😠😠

Getting ready to take my new Rubi up to Monache Meadows this weekend with hubby and his friends. Can't wait to hit the trails finally! BTW...how did you handle the first rock chip, paint chip, or ding while of road? I know its going to happen, but UGH!! It just hurts when it does! 🤣
