So this thread is absolutely great!!! One thing I am doing as soon as I get home is removing the stupid air damn on the fenders.
I took mine off right away- there are youtube video's on them. Not hard to do, just a pain the *ss.

If you're talking about what Jeep calls the "closure panels" then I'd leave them in place, or at worst just trim off the parts you need. Those panels also double as weather protection for the fog lamp housings, wiring, and bulbs. Without them, you'll be blasting your lights with road grime, mud, dirt, water, etc.
hmmmmmm......getting a replacement bumper so I think that wont be an issue.

How’s the ride compared to your factory setup?

Super cool setup. What are those wheels?

How is the road noise compared to stock and did you notice any difference in driving?

I had duratracs on my TJ a while ago and loved them better than any other tire.

Thanks. Vision 399 rims. The road noise is a bit worse, but I had Duratracs on my JK so I don’t really notice it or care. The ride is more rugged, but not in a bad way. Rides like a Jeep with the Duratracs. With stock tires the ride was too car like for my liking.

First Post for a Newbie!
This thread was just what I needed as I wanted to see pics of the 285/70/17 K02s installed. Thanks!
My wife drives our 2018 JLU Sport S during the week and I drive it every chance I get and want to upgrade tires for improved traction for weekend hunting/skiing trips. I'm loving this rig (2.0 motor and tow package) and pumping premium from Chevron we get 27mpg freeway. Right now at 25.1 average mpg with the original 6,595 miles.
So stopped in local Jeep specialists (Northridge 4x4) and they were recommending the following:
1) 2" spacer lift (i.e., keeping original suspension/warranty)
2) Z Automotive JL Tazer Mini (speedometer adjustment)
3) Alignment
4) 285/70/17 max tire w/out going to new rims w/35s

I really would like to have just a little wider tire than the 285 "for the look" but will look for the Rubi takeoffs for price/function for now.

Just got new (1k mi.) Rubi takeoff wheels/tires ($925) and suspension ($250) installed on my 2018 JLU Sport S yesterday by local dealer. Tires at Costco would have been $1.3k, so felt I got a reasonable deal. Started home then noticed issues with TPS light and what felt like wheel balancing, so turned around and they immediately addressed. On drive home it seems that quite a bit stiffer suspension than the plush stock and seems to have a bit of play (3/4") in the steering now.

Welcome to the club. It looks great. You might need longer lower control arms (like the ones from the Mopar Lift) to address caster.
