Phone rings super load when connected, even with ringer off?

If I am using car play, the ringer can be off, the radio and maps at a moderate volume. But if I get a call it rings max volume on the default iphone ring tone. Like ear bleeding loud. I have gone through every setting and can't find a solution. Sport with Uconnect 3 I believe. Any one had a similar situation with a solution?

I am having same issue. The ring just blast loud. Using a iPhone x

I'm almost certain that while connected through car play, the volume is high because the phones audio output volume is turned all the way up. Think of it like plugging in a pair of headphones and your jeeps speakers are the headphones. Turn down the output volume on your iPhone before you plug in car play mode.

I found a fix for the phone ring volume problem. Go to settings, audio, speed adjusted volume, turn it to off. This is not a perfect fix, but I'm tired of the heart stopping ring. The next day it was back to super loud again.
