Pebble cracked windshield on my JL

Ok my windshield cracked on the highway with a dump truck ahead in the right lane. Couple of pebbles came rolling right off it and one smacked direct onto my windshield right over the drivers side windshield wiper. Called insurance and set up an appointmentwith safelight for today. BE AWARE: obviously you would like exact replacement glass as came from factory with the Jeep truck imprinted on the windshield which is from Mopar. You have to stress that to your insurance company or they will replace with after market. When I asked they said that would have to get approved. Well I waited which was about 30 to 40 seconds and was approved. So all good safelight came today as scheduled and it worked out100% right.

For the record, there is presently no aftermarket windshield replacement for the JL. Only offering is the Mopar windshield.

With the JK, you would / could be given a choice but not with the JL.

Hmmmm. Good to know. Insurance toyed with me. This is one moment not having an after market worked out just fine

Ugh, right?! Had my JLUR 4 months and just cracked my second windshield.

The only windshield replacement available right now is Mopar, but honestly who cares aftermarket or not, you probably need to replace it again soon...

My windshield cracked. Something tiny like the crack above. Never even noticed the chip. Went to my nieces birthday and when i came out to go home nice crack in the lower passenger corner. Calling safelight this weekend. Freaking $500 to replace according to the website.

Wranglers are notorious for cracking windshields, check with your insurance and see if it is worth it to raise your coverage on “other than collision” to lower the deductible on windshield glass.
