Managed to get the actuator replaced. Still have the same issue:I had to stand on my head in the footwell to find it. It is hiding behind the duct work for the floor vents. The duct just pops off and it is easy to get too. Be sure to put it in the park position before you install the motor.
Gregj
Eta it is down by the bottom of the dash
Try running it for a while, it may be going full cold to cool the cabin down and then it will stabilize when the target temp is reached.Managed to get the actuator replaced. Still have the same issue:
HI = 100% heat
84 or less = 100% LO
I watched the actuator before I installed it and when going from HI to 83, it slowly rotated to full cold in 5deg or so movements on its own. I wonder if there's a temperature sensor issue on that side.
I don't unfortunately. My thinking was the system doesn't seem to know what temp to be so it just defaults to hot and cold with nothing in between on that side. That line just happens to be HI and 83. Once my work schedule settles down I'll end up taking it in unless another idea presents itself.Man I was just about to respond to the OP to let you know the actuator won’t fix the issue. FCA uses dumb actuators with no position sensing feedback. The learning and thinking happens in the hvac module. Good thing the actuators are cheap.
You’re probably onto something with the interior temp sensor. Do you have a scan tool that can read body / hvac data?
Sorry for the late ask. Did solve your issue?Holy crap I think you were right. I set it to auto at 72 yesterday and now the cold output on each side is the same.
Okay thank youEnded up being a bad temp sensor in the air duct on the passenger side, fixed under my extended warranty. They likely had to pull the whole dash to get to it.
