My wife has a sting gray Sahara, she is wanting to paint the brake calipers hot pink, we found a vendor that makes it, just wondering if there’s any drawbacks to a lighter color? The vendor says that it’s good up to 950° or so.

Just ask @cosine he knows!
No drawbacks as far as any braking issues, that VHT high temp paint is pretty durable stuff, the "flameproof" even better, not sure if they make it in pink though.
Gotta keep mama happy :)

I did mine in red with a kit from an auto parts store. It was a brush on kit that I had used before on other vehicles. Only draw back to a light color I would think would be the brake dust and them looking dirty sooner between washing. I say go for it, I like mine...

you could also get some MGP caliper covers that come in pink. definitely not as cool as the real thing though. less hassle though lol.

true. ive also seen some shitty paint caliper paint jobs. it looks great when its done GREAT. it looks horrible when its done less than great. ive purchased two used vehicles where the prior owners painted the calipers themselves. one did an ok job, just didnt care for the color. the other did a terrible job. both did not look like the professionally powder coated calipers i have on my other car. not even close. i really havent seen many impressive DIY caliper jobs. and ive seen plenty at car shows/meets.

I haven’t been able to find the pink caliper covers? Do you have a link for them?

Did u go to mgp caliper covers website?
They have the Sport but seems theyre still working on the sahara/rubicon. They can do custom colors. They even have breast cancer awareness version in pink on their homepage

I agree on just painting them. Just prep them properly.

I prefer the G2 caliper paint. Lasts forever and easy to apply. I would never do caliper covers. They look corny (to me) and maybe it's just coming from sports cars but I always assumed they just trap heat behind them where I don't want it.

Going to take a chance and try "amc blue" on my calipers. I think it will look good with my GCM. Was going to do red but wanted something different.

Also, i have used regular rattle can paint for calipers several times with no issues at all. Its an option if you want a different color.
