Painting a textured hardtop

Has anyone here painted their textured hardtop themselves? I've seen youtube videos of people doing it on older two door Jeeps but I'm curious to talk to someone who has done it on a new 4 door one. I don't mind putting the extra work in, there isn't much else to do considering the shut downs anyway hahah. I feel like sanding it is going to be the most time consuming part. Does anyone have any tips?

I am about to tackle the job. I got a quote from a paint guy to paint it but I have to get it sanded down. I am a little nervous to start sanding away at it but I really don't like the textured look. I should have thought about this before I bought mine, but here we are. I will keep you posted.

Sell it and buy a painted one. Takes a bit of time to find one. Took me a few months to find one close, watch FB as well.
