Has anyone attempted to spray paint their 392 muffler and pipes with a high temp spray paint? I have seen it done on other Wrangler models but not on the 392. Would love to know how it turned out and if there are any pointers. Thanks!

I too pondered this one as I think painted black would look much better than the factory stainless. I will be painting mine once I take delivery.

So I painted mine this weekend. Came out great IMO. I used 2 coats of 2000 degree flat black spray paint. After curing that following the directions on the can and then waiting 24 hours, I added 2 more coats of 500 degree gloss black spray paint. It was probably overkill to use the 2000 degree paint first, but I like the extra insurance it provides. Pics below.

Looks good. In a stealthy bad-ass kinda way 👍

No, I did not remove the muffler. I used butcher paper to mask off the areas around the muffler while spray painting. Worked just fine. I hope that helps!

How did you paint the actual exhaust tips? Did you paint on the top of the tips that face the under side and if so how did you reach up there with the paint? Or were you able to angle them down? Looks great!

After I masked off the bumper and I was easily able to just spray the paint into those areas. I didn't have to angle the tips down.
