Noticed some issues with the paint on the drivers door hinge bracket on my JL Sahara. Owned new since 3rd week in February 2018.

Anyone else with the same issue?

Should I contact Jeep Cares?

I would definitely be concerned about this. Looks like it will only get worse.

Not sure if aluminum would cause corrosion tho. But that’s not right regardless. I’m guessing poor prep work. Either way take that to be looked at.

Sorry to hear of the paint concerns you’re experiencing, rcgait1. We recommend bringing this to the attention of your local Jeep dealer if you have not done so already. Our team is available via PM if you are in need of any assistance with that process.

I need this to happen to me so badly so Jeep can fix it all including all the trail scratches on mine!

All jokes aside, sucks! Like above, looks like bubbling and eventually as we know, will crack. Keep us updated! Interested in knowing what it is!

Took it to local dealer, they took pictures for warranty. Once approved they sent me over to the dealer body shop for an estimate. Scheduled repair.
Repair looks like new. No issues. 3 days at the body shop.

Just noticed this on two hinges on my 2018 JL Sport. This is referenced elsewhere on the forum as an ongoing problem with the aluminum hinges. Has been happening since 2007. Consensus is it’s a problem with the way the aluminum is anodized. Once the corrosion starts it won't stop even in the absence of air and water.
Check for “rusty hinges” in the Repair section of the forum.

I must noticed this corrosion on my passenger side door, right above one of my hinges. :(
