P0607 code brand new JL

Was leaving the grocery store and I turn on the Jeep and there’s a check engine light. Get home and hook up a code reader. P0607. Only had the Jeep a week it’s a 20’ Sahara Unlimited. Anyone ever get this before. I’m taking it into the dealer in the morning.

i figured it was something small but I’m gunna start it up again n see if it’s still there. I just don’t like having a brand new vehicle and it’s throwing codes in its first week.

OBD2 Code P0607 Jeep definition:
This code basically means that the programming of the PCM/ECM (powertrain/engine control module) has failed. This can be a more serious code and may also be refered to as “ECM Internal Circuit Malfunction”.

Possible causes of OBD code P0607 Jeep
A P0607 Jeep could be caused by one or more of the following: Loose ground terminal on PCM/ECM Dead or defective (12V main) battery An open or short in the power or ground circuit Loose or corroded battery terminals Failed PCM/ECM.

I checked the terminals and they looked good. Just gunna take it in tomorrow make them fix it.

Check your fuses too almost all of mine could be pushed in another 1/8" or so. I say to check this because the dealer is likely to check them and just send you on your way if any need to be seated.
I would still suspect batteries first since sitting on a lot and only being occasionally driven to another spot in that same lot for months at a time is hell on batteries.

I have the same issue on my 2020 JLUS Altitude with 2.0!!! the light with p0607 has been off and on since day one. I took it to the dealer on Wed to have a recall done (new radio back up camera reflash). They couldn't find anything and opened up a start case with jeep. they car drives fine and never has an issue except that light with that code... it will go off after a day or two by itself but stays stored in the system. I will update if i here more. they gave me my car back and said we will wait to here from star

Mines a 20 JLU sahara altitude also. I just dropped it off and the service guy didn’t know what it could be. The tech said it could just need an update. But they’ll get back to me later today.

Update******

so the dealer said it’s usually some electrical connection issue. Went through everything and found a ground connection had a bolt that still had paint on it so they cleaned up to get bare metal and put it back and all codes cleared. The service tech said it the P0607 usually comes when another code is present also and there was a low tire pressure code. But all is good now no light so far.

I just bought a 2020 Rubicon Recon and the p0607 code came up at 500 miles. I take to dealer next week. After reading here, will try pushing in all fuses and look at battery/ grounding. Hope it is a quick easy fix. Will update what is found.

Good luck and I hope you get it resolved. My Recon had many fuses that needed to be seated.

Have the same issue on my wife's 2020 Sahara. Dealership finally got through to FCA and it appears to be a known software issue despite not releasing a notification to the dealerships...

So looks like we have to wait for a PCM software update to fix this.

I cancelled my appointment. The code cleared after a week. I pushed all of the fuses down, and checked ground. Did not see any issues. Good to know that a software update may fix it. I assume code will come back.
