You would have to contact Jon and ask
He has been making these for the JK for a few years and I believe I am one of the first for the JL
I know that the 2.0 and 3.6 use the same fan so controlling it should be the same
Looks like from what I am reading that the 2.0 has more complaints about running hot
The wiring just taps into wiring loom at the ECM in the engine compartment
If and when you decide to get one I have an idea. An after thought that you may want to do

220F in not overheating according to Jeep, as the fan is not on.

What about the tazer cooldown mode? If I activate this on my JL it keeps the temps around 190F whereas they would cycle from 220F down to 210F over and over.

I'll contact Jon and see what he says. What's your idea? I'll try almost anything at this point :)

One of my concerns was what happens if the PWM module fails
So I sent him Jon some question

1. What happens if the unit fails. will the high speed bypass still work or the fan not work at all? Depends on what failed. If it looses connection to the canbus the override will still work.
2. If the unit fails can a jumper wire be used to temporarily run the fan? You can just hook the stock fan signal wire back up
3. If the unit fails will running the A/C keep the fan on. Doubt it.
4. Have you had any units fail? Do I need to have a spare just in case it fails out on the trail. I have never seen one fail. If it gets full of water or corroded it would cause issues. Where the wires are spliced in could be a failure point if not done properly
Do you have a problem with me using dielectric grease on where the unit plugs into the socket. That should be fine.

Here is the solution to if the PWM module fails
2. If the unit fails can a jumper wire be used to temporarily run the fan? You can just hook the stock fan signal wire back up

Hook up an on and off switch to the two fan signal wires
Meaning if the module ever fails. unplug the module turn the switch to the on position reconnecting to factory fan control
The fan signal wire is the only wire you cut.All others are a splice
You will understand more ones you see the wiring diagram

UPDATE
Just got back from a 60 mile round trip with up and down hills
One hill is about a mile long and fairly steep
Max temps on uphill clime WITH PWM module
Coolant 203
oil temp 206
Trans temp 195

Going down hill after 2 minutes
coolant temps 185
Oil temps 188
Trans temps 188 to 190

freeway driving 70 MPH
coolant temps 188 to 192
oil temps 188 to 190
trans temps 190 ( Note / The trans cooler I believe has a 190 degree thermostat so you will always see about 190 )

BEFORE the PWM module I would see going uphill
Coolants temp rise to 221 fans kick in at bout 15% and then if the hill was a long one go to 231 before the fan kicked in at about 75% . I have seen temps as high as 234
Oil temps would get as high as 225
Trans temps would hit 206

The JEEP JL PWM FAN CONTROLLER is a keeper
Now I need to add one to my wife's stock Rubicon

You could also get a custom tune and have the high, low, and medium speed fan settings changed in the tune. I think fan settings are available on my Superchips TrailDash3, I'll check later.

Thanks for the added info! I emailed Jon about using it with a 2.0 and he hasn't gotten back with me yet. I hope it will work 🤞

Jon from RPMExtreme said it's never been tested on a 2.0. He wants me to take a pic of the "engine computer". I assume he means the ECU. Is that the computer modular under the fuses? Or is it something else? He said the fan side should be the same.

Thanks for the reply. I'm having surgery on my nose this morning and will be out for a few days but I'll take a look. I'm pretty sure the 2.0 is under the fuse box which means it probably won't work but I'll take a look and snap some pictures anyway.

UPDATE 9/23/23

Just got back from a trip to Lake Tahoe from the bay aria with the PWM FAN CONTROLLER

Going up high way 80 from Auburn to Truckee at 65-70 mph the coolant topped out at 212 degrees / Trans 206 / oil 221

As soon as I hit the top of any hill the coolant temp would fall to 188 to 192 within 1 minute along with the oil and trans temps

The last trip to Tahoe about a month ago my coolant temps would hit 221 on any little hill and hit 231 or higher on the larger longer hills

Rpmextreme JEEP JL PWM FAN CONTROLLER has made a big difference in keeping air moving though the radiator and keeping my jeep running cooler

A PWM FAN CONTROLLER is nothing new. these are out there for other cars /trucks and motorcycles

Jon has programed these just for the jeep JK &JL

My 2020 2.0 ecu is on the driver's side up by the radiator.
