I like to drive around with my gear indicator set to always be showing on the dash, and I think a lot of people drive it like this.
Why would Jeep design the paddle shifter software so that when you tap them for a shift, your gear indicator icon disappears? If you hold down the + shifter to go back into auto mode, the gear indicator reappears...
I know that shifting into 'M' mode will permanently leave the indicator on the dash, but when I want to pass someone quickly I don't want to take my hands off the wheel to see what gear I'm in when I drop down one or two. I've driven motorcycles all my life, so I know it isn't a huge deal always knowing what gear I'm in. But still, IMO it's a dumb design and shouldn't go away when using the paddles.
**Disclaimer - I don't have a 392, but I've added the paddles into my JLURD, and I was told this behavior is normal for 392's. If it's not what actually happens to ya'll I'm sorry in advance**
