Since the OTA update, my 8.4" has been a bit squirrelly. At least 3 times, now, it's gotten locked up and refused to accept any button presses. Turning the Jeep off, opening the door, waiting for screen to turn off, then starting fixes that issue. Annoying.

Also, if I have CarPlay in use when I turn off the Jeep it will default to FM radio when I turn it back on without the phone plugged in. I never use FM, so it's odd that it now wants to default to it. It used to default to SXM. Minor change in behavior, but it annoys me because I hate starting up in my garage and being greeted by loud static.

Today I had a new issue. Head unit was fully responsive and any/all apps would open (including off road pages, which never disappeared on me as others have reported), but no volume. Tried CarPlay and BT. No volume. Tried turning off, opening door, etc. No volume. Just as I was about to get extremely irritated I decided to try a full reboot via my Tazer JL. Viola! All was back to normal.

So, yeah, this update made things worse for my 8.4" unit. I mean, I got the offroad pages everyone's making such a big deal about, but honestly it's a really "meh" app. Big deal, I can see all the same info that has always been there in the EVIC except that now I randomly can't use my radio. I hope a new update comes soon to address the regression.

On the bright side, I have a Tazer which is worth every penny I paid. If I'd of had to disconnect battery cables to reboot I'd have been pissed.

@JeepCares - you can log this under "another forum guy says the OTA update introduced instability." I'm not interested in pursuing with a dealership, as I am 1000% certain they can't do a thing about it. I'll just reboot via my Tazer as needed and patiently wait for the next update. (I sure would like to be able to refuse updates, too. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.)

Yup, Tazer JL and Tazer JL Lite can reboot the radio. By the way, removing fuse F11 will cause a reboot of the radio, also. No need to do via complete 12v power kill.
