Ordering 4.88 Gears

How are people ordering a 4.88 gear set? I see the Extreme Recon has 4.56 but for the life of me I cant find anything about the 4.88's. Is this something that's being done at the stealership or is it a option I'm not seeing. Like is it a very specific build that I have missed playing around on the jeep website. Regardless just curious. Thanks ahead of time.

I just ordered a 22 JLUR 6mt with 4.88's, not sure if anyone has gotten one yet as believe there are still 21 orders outstanding and wasn't a option until this year, look at Jeep. Ca and you can build a 22

The 4.88s have been available since '22 ordering started. It was only available with the 6mt, not sure if that has changed.

Yeah the one I built on Jeep.ca was a manual Rubicon

I have a 2 door rubicon on order with the 4.88 gears. Can’t freaking wait. I ordered on opening day and was surprised when the salesperson brought up the 4.88 option. Wasn’t planning on the extra cost but also didn’t hesitate to say absolutely yes. Chat says Jeep has all the parts and it’s staged. I hope Toledo brings in doughnuts for everyone on Monday!!!

Years ago was into early Toyota Pickups and factory they came with 4.10 gears and adding 33's 4.88's were the gear to keep things the same, also their later 4runners with 31's came with 4.88's factory. Either way won't be bad after you upgrade to 35's at a later date

Probably a couple of things. Jeep know people want it and charge accordingly. Also still cheaper than have a swap done after the fact. Just the gears themselves for front and rear cost what $600ish combined? I'm just glad Jeep is even offering this option even though I'm not ordering it

2 door rubicon on order with the 4.88 gears

Mines definitely a 2 door 6 speed Rubicon on order. I think it’s available for both models, though a manual is required. I’m interested to see how this new Jeep with 33s and a 4.88 set will drive compared to my last Jeep. I had an 05 Tj rubicon mostly stock m and it was incredibly slow. Seemed unstoppable in 4lo. Meaning I couldn’t mash the brakes and stall it out. I haven’t actually driven any of the newer ones with the new motors or a 4 door even. This lower crawl ratio is going to be so nice in the rocks, I might not even want to jump up to 35s. Either way I couldn’t pass on the opportunity.
