did you go from “d”status to email, or d-d1-kz etc ?
Not sure, I had checked with Jeep Chat about every 2 weeks and I had been in shipping status for many weeks, but it had not shipped and had no ETA to ship.....

I think it was built and done, but for some reason waiting to ship.

Sure...
Ordered 12/28 and picked up 5/21. I still feel bad for those who ordered before me and are still waiting. It’s worth the wait!

Very cool!!! I planned on a Sarge Green, but my wife vetoed it. My next favorite was Sting Gray with the black grille, and we both love it. Give your first driving impressions if you have time! It definitely is a very unique vehicle. Oh, and while breaking it in, use the paddle shifters to keep it from going into 4 cyl. mode. I have engineering friends who worked on this engine under the SRT group, and they suggested that the rings might not seat properly if you're really babying it during the first couple hundred miles and only half the cylinders are under compression. The paddle shifter will disable that stupid MDS "feature" and I honestly don't notice any difference in gas mileage.

After 300 miles and 3 trips to the dirt, I love it. The 392 feels like something made in a custom shop not a manufacturer. I am a sports car nut, so in my mind this driving experience feels well priced….the gas milage and no manual transmission are my only complaints, but I knew that going in. I might do a sway bar and take off the spare for more room in the garage, but I do not need: tires, lift, exhaust, gearing that all came from the manufacture!! It is crazy to think about.

Below is delivery day & a couple days later…. pretty obvious I am having fun!

It's cool how Sarge Green changes colors in different light. That was my choice for colors, but my wife didn't like my ideas for it (was going to put a big army star on the door).

Not sure where you are on the West Coast, but there's an awesome ceramic coating place down in San Jose. I had mine done, and mud and muck wash off with no drama. Plus, the ceramic is so thick that a bunch of scratches I got while plowing through brush and trees are just in the ceramic's "sacrificial layer". I bring it back in, they wash and clay it, and apply another layer of ceramic, and all is good again.

Where did you get that done in SJ and how much did it cost?

It was at Dynamic Detailing (very close to SJC Airport). I got the best package they offered, and it was about $1500 before tip. Comes with a 10 year warranty, and the Jeep came out looking great. Lots of the factory orange peel look was gone, so I could tell the ceramic went on fairly thick. Here's a link to their website if this forum allows it: http://www.dynamicdetailingsj.com/
